Eizo is a middle-aged, overworked software engineer who loves cats.

One night after working late, he saves an injured cat from a speeding truck. The cat survives, but Eizo does not...

Luckily, that cat turns out to be a god-like being who offers him a second chance in another world! Eizo decides that he wants a slower life, one where he can live off the things he creates with his own hands. So, why not become a blacksmith? He does have one other stipulation: a cat companion for his quiet life.

These requests are granted, and Eizo is whisked away to a new world and imbued with blacksmithing knowledge. He soon finds out that his abilities are above average—in fact, his new skills are so overpowered that they're like cheats. On top of that, his cat companion turns out to be a half-tiger girl!

Eizo's blades soon garner attention, and he realizes that he can turn the tides of battle with his forge and hammer. With so much commotion in store, will Eizo truly be able to enjoy a quiet life?

The reader was fine. I don't know if it was a translation issue or not but there was a lot of detail about dumb things. Also, very early there was a red flag for me. when the author is like "of the 2 remaining doors one or them had to be a bedroom, however one was an office." that is not exact but the however one was an office... the other was a bedroom. Why a however, it's written like word count was the only goal. I wanted to like this, I did. the writer seems to have never even did a 5 minute google of black smiting

To much detail about the wrong stuff.

The voice actor is good overall but idk what posed them to make the anointing screams it was just annoying an pulled me out of my immersion 🥲

Random screaming...

The character development is well done and unlike many "Harem RPG's", It's not full of sex. All the characters are about mutual development. The narration is extra-ordinary.

A FUN RPG WITH A TWIST

the story here is good, slow, quiet, but if you went in expecting something more, you'll be disappointed. my issue comes from the main attraction, the blacksmithing. having the free "cheat" skills and knowledge is fine, but not when it's wrong.

my biggest complaints, forging the sword, and the distance from wanting an apprentice or mechanical forge. He cast the sword. despite what you may have seen in shows like lord of the rings, you do NOT cast Iron/steel this would result in a brittle unhardenable blade. an apprentice, or an automatic hammer, are vital for essential processes, like forging out a steel bloom, or forging larger pieces, like anvils or hammers.

side note after finishing the story and epilogue.
epilogue is fine, but a greatsword would not function as described, the blade should be thin and long, nowhere near large enough to act as a shield against fire, unless it had a magically activated barrier, which shouldn't be possible considering one of the MCs main characteristics in the story (get anime out of your head, One Piece and Guts are not good examples of effective or well designed greatswords). Finally, no matter how kind you are, no one, regardless of their feelings about their work or their customer, would E V E R have a "pay what you want" policy, unless it is specifically not for profit or a side hobby. Blacksmithing is the MC's profession, pay what you want is a terrible business model, especially for your most expensive, time consuming products.

this is pretty nit picky, but for a story focused around blacksmithing, and how much focus (and story time) goes into these aspects, a lot of my time is spent listening griping about these different aspects.

good story, bad research

The Narrator is good with how make this slow pace story to a slice of life to worth listening to, I am willing to continue with the series thank you for your time and talent.

I am not a Japanese speaker and the translation is clean but lacks the pomp and fills needed to make it anything other than slightly awkward. It just doesn’t flow. The story is good but as the title declares is quite and uneventful. Almost served no purpose. I can not fathom a reason to continue the series based on what I just finished and will be content with this as an end.

Overall it’s good, lackluster though

I like the story but so far, im still in the first chapter. I wish that there is a female voice actor for the female characters it would be much better and enjoyable
