I can’t wait for more, perfectly narrated and kept me interested throughout. This was my first audiobook I’ve ever listened to, and it got me hooked!

Really good!

I'm not going to lie. Sometimes, i forgot i ws listening to a Japanese light novel with how realistic and mature some parts were, but wtf was that last chapter left me kinda lost.

VERY IMPORTANT

This is book 1, and like every other book in this ongoing series, has an alternate ending as its last chapter. There are more books coming.

That said, great to revisit this series.

This is actually very good!

The book is very much a standard isekai, but the very well executed. I loved the world building and the characters are all so good, even the bad guys. And of course the narration is flawless, it gave life to everything in a beautiful way. Very good read overall. I recommend it

Amazing story.

This is a rood listen if your doing other work. It’s also fascinating when it gets into the details of the table top rules.

A bit lame And disappointing.

First, most of this book was slow and disjointed. Then the story advanced, and it seemed like a good origin story but it kept jumping out of the story to add in encyclopedia entries to make things confusing instead of clearing up information. And lastly, the ending just sucked. The time skip at the end with leaving the other story hanging was just bad writing. It just felt like the author decided to abandon the story and just needed something to wrap it up. All I can say is, if there is ever a sequel to this book, I’m not getting it.

There are more volumes! It's not a one and done!

I imagine it's easy to misunderstand in the audiobook version if you don't know ahead of time but this is NOT the only volume in the series. The Henderson story at the end is a What If? style of story that shows an alternate future if things had gone a little differently.

Otherwise an excellent performance for an excellent series that I adore.

For any fans of TRPGs

I found this book when I was browsing for something new to read. I took a chance on it and am so glad I did.Ever since finding it I have looked forward to each new release. If you have ever played D&D or anything like it this series is sure to scratch that same itch. I particularly like the What if stories the author ends each novel with.

Surprised how good it was

Wasn’t expecting much from an isekai, but was pleasantly surprised by this book. It’s definitely worth the read, looking forward too book two.
