That’s was a great sequel!

This second book was as amazing as the first and just made me wish for the third one all the more!

Top Tier!

This series is really funny and has endearing characters (Octaralis!) Perfectly read and written. The MC is like a real person, not an OP MurderHobo taking his rage out on the world. A person with values and empathy is refreshing. If you like DCC or Discount Dan you will enjoy this series. It's every bit as good!

Whatevs

Once again I think it’s a mixed bag. There’s still the incredibly stupid saying “sh*t brownies,” there’s the phrase “whatevs,” which is something maybe only high school Barbies use, then there’s the indecisive story type, is it city building or litrpg? Eventually, though, behind the forced attempts at humor, there’s a very inept character and a semblance of a decent story, so I guess I’m still listening. I’m just rewinding less after falling asleep.

What A Ending

Holy crap did not expect it to end that way. I can't wait until I get to book threw, because honestly I did not see any of that coming. Towards the end I was on the edge of my seat and needed more, I even lost a good two hours of sleep because I couldn't stop till I knew what happened. Awesome job.

Just like the last book this one is really fun! the powers of the mc are hilarious and awesome!

A fun mixed bag worth your while.

Before the actual review I want to say I do recommend this to people.

To start the review, we need to get the cons out of the way. Other reviewers have the right of it in some ways. If you read them, you will notice most talk about the off humor and sometimes way too detailed “thought process”. These are not thoughts, thoughts are not a paragraph. The world has stopped for several seconds for this guy to think, there are other small annoyances I could detail but I am not attempting to write my own novel here. To summarize, the finesse or execution of the story needs refining. Jokes and monologues to me are execution and this author does seem to be improving but still as far to go. This does bring up the good.

The overall structure and skeleton of the story is really good. I like the design of how the MC gets into and out of trouble. For the most part they find actual solutions and when they are making a stupid decision over escaping or fighting (which is way smarter) there is a legitimate reason behind it. No “and then a stone was smacked by a fish and hit my head knocking me out at the worst time” here. Some lucky encounters persist of course but predominantly it feels like the MC is actually working through the issues with some idea of what they want to do and how they will do it. Another point to me is the way characters feel fairly real. They are most of the time rounded with wants and flaws. Could still use some more work but are a step above other stories I’ve read. This world and plot are interesting and though there are major flaws in that some people seem to unquestionably believe the mustachioed and comically sinister villains, there is at least a substantial amount that do not.

The good news is that this author does seem to be improving with their flaws over the last book. Interested to see if they continue to develop.

Tldr: it’s a really fun story with great bones and decent characters but is held back by wonky execution (jokes, cartoonish villains, and monologues) and only 80% of the time does it seem like the author considered the consequences of everything.

Getting Better

This series gets better with every book. I'm so impressed with the authors ability to weave the story in a way that keeps me so interested I'm almost frustrated. That's how you know the writing is on point.

Love this book!

Really fun story that I can never see what is coming next! Tigner does a great job with building out the world in this one. If you like the first one you will love this book. If you like Lit RPGs I strongly recommend this book!

Just how dumb can the MC be?

This MC is the maker of his own problems, issues that could of been delt with a couple simple words is thrown into chao's instead do to the MC wanting to role play king of as$h0les instead. Entire book of bad decisions and acting like a 10-year-old child even though he is supposed to be an adult. I never met such a frustrating main Character who seems to lack any form of common sense. ( I found myself screaming at my computer yelling what the hell is wrong with you, as he goes off and does another stupid thing one after another. )
