They called him Stone Cold. Once upon a time, I called him my pen pal.

When I wrote to Callum Rose five years ago, I never expected a response. He was an up-and-coming rock star, after all, and I was just a shy seventeen-year-old. He did write back, though, and through hundreds of emails, we became best friends. Until the day we unknowingly broke each other’s hearts.

It’s been three years since our last email. I’m all grown up with a new job at Good Music and finally have my act together. But then Callum Rose walks in the door, and I’m instantly thrown back to the days when he meant everything to me.

The thing is...he doesn’t know who I am. He’s never seen my face. And this Callum Rose lives up to his stone cold reputation.

That is, until one night, he sees me in another man’s arms, and decides to claim me. Then there is nothingcold about him.

Callum becomes a man on fire for me, introverted, awkward, chubby Wren Anderson. He’s obsessive, possessive, and kind of stalker-y—and I like it...a little too much. The problem is, he still doesn’t know I’m the girl who walked away from him or the reason behind it, and I’m afraid when he finds out, I’ll be right back in the cold again.

Ugh, I loved this story. I loved that I didn’t need to read book one to understand everything. As a curvy girl, I loved how Callum made Wren feel like she was literally the only girl in existence. My only negative with this story was how I felt that Callum’s character didn’t really zone in on her being a single mom. There wasn’t a lot of “I love your kid” moments, more like “I’m obsessed with you, so that includes your son”. I like it when the MC falls for the kid just as much, and I felt like that was missing. Other than that, great story!

I didn't know how badly I needed Gideon Frost's Callum in my life, but he had me from the first "Little Bird". I'd already read the book before I purchased the audio and was so nervous the narration wouldn't live up to the version of Callum I had in my head, but it was so much better!
This book was right up my alley.. Plus-size redhead, two introverts who first connect as pen pals, insecurity, obsession, love and a little kink.
I wasn't prepared for the trees in the epilogue, maybe one of my favorite few paragraphs in any book ever. It just broke me in the very best way. I'm tearing up now thinking about it. Phew.. This book is one of my new favorites! Just read it!

This story in a lot of ways is unique - to the point that it stands apart from the others. I followed along as the story evolved without being able to predict what was coming next. I would definitely recommend. The MMC is fiercely in-love, obsessed, protective and a bit stalker-ish.

Everything about this story was fantastic. It was really beautiful. The narrators were perfect. The first book in the series is also awesome. Getting ready to start the third.
