• Fresh world-building: Unlike many alien romances where Earthlings are abducted from a contemporary setting, this story imagines a future where humans and aliens coexist openly, with interstellar travel as routine as catching a bus. That twist makes the premise feel expansive and original.
• Beauty-and-the-Beast echoes: Venge’s curse, his hidden beast, and the gothic castle backdrop create a fairy-tale resonance. Jenny’s warmth and resilience mirror Belle’s compassion, while the vast library and enchanted atmosphere add a deliciously romantic touch.
• Emotional stakes: The looming threat of Venge’s transformation adds urgency, making every tender moment between him and Jenny feel fragile and precious.

💔 What Fell Short

• While the romance is undeniably steamy, certain alien-specific elements (like tail sex) may not appeal to all readers. For me, it pulled me out of the otherwise immersive flow.

The dual narration by Patrick Zeller and Hollie Jackson elevates the story. Patrick’s deep, resonant voice perfectly embodies Venge’s hulking presence and tortured soul, while Hollie’s expressive delivery captures Jenny’s innocence, determination, and emotional growth. Though her tone skews slightly older than the typical ingénue, her warmth and nuance make Jenny feel grounded and relatable. Together, they bring the dual POVs to life with energy and authenticity.

💬 Final Thoughts

This audiobook blends gothic romance, sci-fi adventure, and fairy-tale magic into a unique alien love story. Jenny’s defiance and empathy make her a heroine worth rooting for, while Venge’s tragic curse adds depth to the brooding hero archetype. The narration enhances the emotional beats, ensuring listeners are swept into both the danger and tenderness of their journey. Despite a few elements that may not suit every taste, the originality of the worldbuilding and the emotional resonance of the romance make this a standout listen for fans of alien love stories with a dark, fairy-tale twist.

I enjoy listening to books so much. This book is a great escape to enjoy at the end of the day.

Pretty good

The storyline was original, unique, interesting and funny. I love the narrators for these characters. Would have liked revenge against her ex and dad included since they were such awful people; like beast mode revenge…LOL. Have listened to all of the books in series and will continue series as it’s released.

Not bad

The story was good, but a lot of repetitive. The female narrator I find her annoying even in other books. Overall a four is fair because of the repetitive dialogue.

Zeller has interesting voice!! Curvy girls books are sexy voice! The storyline of Curvy Girls series was good to listen over and again!!
