A great surprise

This turned out to be a great listen. I was pleasently surprised and want to ear the other stories. Michelle Mills is firmly on my favorite authors list.

Grumpy males meet Strong women with soft hearts!

I absolutely love this series! Each story is standalone, but much better when read in order. The stories are not terribly long, but just the right length to keep the action moving without a lot of dithering inner monologue. The side characters continue to weave through from book to book - which I love. Just the right amount of spice, too. Sometimes the shorter stories can be all sex and no substance, but these stories have a perfect balance. I highly recommend!

Book 1: His Human Nanny
New Earth human Riley Anderson has been trapped in an exploitative employment contract for five years. She’s almost out the door when a last second request comes in for a human nanny. But she specialized in Geriatrics. A wealthy Hyrrokin has specifically requested a human who are gaining a reputation for compassion and care. Riley is finally able to negotiate to her benefit. But boy, is she surprised by her first meeting with a Hyrrokin.
Aegir Touchstone is an extremely wealthy & well respected Hyrrokin on the planet Tarvos. He is in an unusual situation where he has twins abandoned by their mother: his daughter Kari & his son Loge. Aegir’s attracted to Riley, but he’s not free to pursue another. He’s legally bound to the children’s mother, Kritan Softstone. It takes some time to get him legally clear of Kritan, and free to mate with Riley, whom he’s wildly attracted to.
We meet Aegir’s brother Bergelmir Touchstone, and his mother Bestla Touchstone, who appear in the next book, along with Riley’s friend xxx from New Earth.
Zeller’s voice is just perfect for creating these Hyrrokin males.
Female narrator Lexi Maynard sounds believable as Riley.

Book 2: His Human Surrogate
Bergelmir Touchstone first saw Chloe Chang of New Earth as a video call on his sister-in-law Riley’s communication pad. He started communicating with her from Tarvos and knows she’s the one for him. He took too long to court her and the government outlawed bounding with humans. While Berg was trying to figure out how to get around Tarvos law, Chloe offered herself as a surrogate to get to Tarvos. So, of course, he outbid everyone. To stay legal, Chloe had to sign a contract giving up all rights to the baby to Berg, causing her heartache. Adding confusion, Berg & his team at Molten Lava spend months on a mission that goes wrong, but gives them the clue to expose government corruption. Attraction, heartache, revelation, heartache, HEA.
I’m still thinking Zeller’s voice is just perfect for creating these Hyrrokin males.
Female narrator Victoria Mei did a very decent job.

Book 3: His Human Assistant
Bergelmir Touchstone has stepped back from running Molten Lava security in order to spend time with his new family, leaving his second, Hannibal Hellstone, in charge. HH has been convinced he needs an assistant and ends up with a human female. A very desirable human female named Avery Klein. Avery is an Infiltrator from the Intergalactic Business Bureau rooting out corporate espionage and is currently on the run after being outed on her last assignment. HH is completely smitten with Avery. His son Dagr really likes her, too. Since assistants on Tarvos live with their employer, it isn’t long before Avery learns to appreciate those devilishly handsome features, the charming son, and the lovingly destructive pet wulver. It’s a good thing HH runs a security business that can find out why Avery is hiding out and take steps to protect her.
Zeller’s voice will forever make me think ‘Hyrrokin’, it’s that perfect for these books.
Female narrator Neva Navarre was ok.

Book two was not my favorite but one and three made up for it the lead in two being such a liar.
