Murtagh

Not what you expect. The best part of this book is the first story which was featured in The fork, the witch and the worm. There is a lot of explanation which was already addressed in the Eragon series and seemed to just slow the progress of the overall book. Everything that you could have imagined wanted happening between the characters featured in the Eragon series, DIDN’T happen.

Also, the reader for the audiobook while good, only about 5 voices and they are often mixed up or like characters from the original Eragon series.

10/10 addition to the universe

I’ve been a fan of this world for many many years. I often refer to the Inheritance cycle as my favorite books series and this story is close to my favorite of all of them. Murtagh is such a complex, strong character and delving into his justifications, trauma, and future hopes for himself and Thorn was extraordinarily compelling. I laughed, I cried, and I’m immediately reading it again! It was also exciting to hear that Paolini is far from done with stories from Alagaesia. I’ll take all I can get!
