Publisher's summary

Contains all three books in the Serious Probabilities Series:

Dungeon of Chance: Even Odds
Dungeon of Chance: Double or Nothing
Dungeon of Chance: All-In

In a dangerous world dictated by probabilities, Clay falls well outside the standard deviation….

Thousands of Heroes protect the land, defending against the periodic incursions by gigantic monsters known as World Threats. This was the way it had always been and Clay Shuntwise was perfectly fine with that. Running deliveries for his family’s shop in the sleepy town of Renton, the young teenager barely even thought about Heroes and their role in keeping the world safe.

That was, at least, until a World Threat came crashing down on him.

Reborn into the brand-new and unfamiliar form of a Dungeon Core, Clay struggles as he learns more about Heroes and the dungeons they delve through to get stronger. According to the odd dragonling guide that tries to help him understand his new life, since he was a former Hero, Clay should already intuitively know most of what he needed to succeed. All of the finer parts regarding the relationship between Heroes and dungeons, including information about probabilities and drop rates, should be common knowledge to former Heroes.

The problem? Despite wishing that he had been that lucky in his past life, Clay had never been chosen to be a Hero. Now, though, he might be forced to become one, though not quite in a way he ever expected.

This book contains Dungeon Core, LitRPG, and GameLit elements including dungeon construction and defense, monster summoning, character progression, and a game-like interface. In addition, many of the probabilities the world is based upon are similar to Gacha-type mechanics. Contains no profanity, harems, or explicit sexual content.

Great story.

Loved the story, the only think I didn’t like was that the reader just gave up having different voices for each character.

Wonderful book by amazing writer

The book was a bit heavier on statistics than in others but it didn’t take away from the development of characters and the overall narrative. Still a very enjoyable book.

Another fun story from Jonathan brooks

If you are a fan of Jonathan brooks you will love this set . like his other works it is well written and his stats can be skipped or listened to your choice. I for one am thankful that he puts most of his awesome series in packs so I can have many hours of great listening for one credit . Truthfully you cannot go wrong.

Johnathan is a great author, but not all....

Johnathan is a great author, but not all books are masterpieces. It's interesting to see his work evolve from earlier stuff to what it is today! And yes, I think this one of his worst published stories. But just because he got too caught up in number and stat crunching here.

Worth going though

A fun perspective over a gotcha game in the dungeons point of view . Heavy on stats but a fun listen

It's worth it it take a chance.

Admittedly won this in a giveaway. The core mechanic of the story is a bit frustrating at first but once you get past that the characters and the world grow on you. The setting us fleshed out but the world has space to grow in the best way. All in all its worth trying out for something a little different.

This is a great box set full of probability and stats :)

For a stats based genra it is fun every once in a while to see it really leaned into. This has probabilities galore and a lot of cool creatures. The only problem with this is that there is so much more world left to explore after the story. I really hope Brooks makes it back to this realm for more books in the future. Highly recommend and family friendly.

Great bang for your buck

Pretty good series though it feels like more could have been written. A lot of this series struggled from too much explaining of the mechanics and not enough story. Dungeon layouts will be explained and they are resolved simply by saying that it was difficult, they failed many times but passed it after a few weeks. A lot of the book is dedicated to getting monsters but we never get to see them in action. The author explains his rationale why he did this at the end but I was not completely satisfied with the lack of resolution. This is 3 books in 1 which means this is a great value. The narration was solid. If you have read Brooks before, you will get what you expect from him. A fun, clean dungeon core series.
