Elmer Robbins loved decorating for every holiday with his wife, Mary, by going all out with décor at their cozy little house as well as filling his office with holiday cheer. But when his beloved Mary passed away unexpectedly the year before, it was difficult for Elmer to summon the same sort of enthusiasm in decorating for all of the holidays without her beside him.

However, due to an accident at work, Elmer’s soul is transported to a strange world, where it inhabits an even stranger object called a Dungeon Core. Soon after his arrival, the new Dungeon Core discovers something he didn’t think was possible: a way to reconnect with the soul of his wife, Mary.

In order to do that, though, Elmer will need to survive and increase the Level of his newly acquired form. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know much about fantasy worlds, magic, and monsters; what he does know a lot about, however, are holidays. With the help of a North Pole Elf helper named Keebles, the brand-new Dungeon Core protect his dungeon from a variety of threats by utilizing that holiday-based knowledge while he acquires enough strength to free his wife’s soul.

The Holiday Dungeon Core series is a collection of novellas set in a unique universe that contains LitRPG and Dungeon Core elements such as stats and character progression. Contains no foul language, sexual content, or harems.

A Delightful romp

A fantastic and fresh take on dungeon core.
The holiday theme is absurd and endearing.

Not sure if I've ever had so much fun listening...

So damn fun... this dungeon core story has so much fun, relatable stuff too. Other than during book 1+2 when the voice actor said pit-rap, instead of pit-trap... but it was a tiny hiccup.
The fun monsters added so much, and the human and relatable aspects of the story made it so fun to listen to.

Creative as always

The story is so imaginatively creative. I loved how foreign and strange American holiday traditions could seem like to complete outsiders. Seeing others interact with cultural artifacts that we take for granted is fascinating, and Brooks demonstrates that in these books.

This set is also a great value. Five novellas for the price of one book.

I 100% recommend the book for a lighthearted take on dungeon cores.

What a fun read!!

I listened to this over the Christmas holiday, coincidentally, and really enjoyed it. I have to say, I’m not into any holidays at all. Normally, I’m a year round Scrooge but I secretly appreciate people like the MC that put in effort to decorate. I also only recently discovered the dungeon core genre and this spin on it has really got me hooked. Such a unique perspective.

Not to give too much away, the MC is a typical neighbor that loves every holiday. That loves follows him into his life as a dungeon core where he makes the best the best of his new world and overcome all its new obstacles.

I could listen to this with my younger nieces and nephews around without worrying about language or content (which is especially good since they repeat everything they hear lol). I had so much fun listening to this book. You should definitely try it if you’re needing something light and refreshing with the great dungeon core aspects.

Great Design

I personally love this genre of books as you can get some great creativity as the author describes creating different types of dungeons. It’s also great to hear the reactions of those who try and overcome the challenges.

I really enjoyed these novellas. Every time a new holiday was announced I was excited to see how it would be made into a dungeon. It's too bad the adventurers couldn't read the quips he put on things!

Brooks doing what he does best

This is a chill and fun Dungeon Core book which I would honestly recommend to dungeon core virgins as their entry point.
it deals with all the tropes and explains everything while using the holidays from earth to keep the listener grounded.

Very cute

Box set is particularly nice for these short novellas. Feels like one long novel all together with different parts. If you love the authors other books this will be good for you! Also a bit less on stats if you like his style but need a break from those lol! Overall a wonderful story!
