Thousands of Heroes protect the land, defending against the periodic incursions by gigantic monsters known as World Threats. This was the way it had always been, and Clay Shuntwise was perfectly fine with that. Running deliveries for his family’s shop in the sleepy town of Renton, the young teenager barely even thought about Heroes and their role in keeping the world safe.

That was, at least, until the world came crashing down on him.

Reborn into the brand new and unfamiliar form of a Dungeon Core, Clay struggles through learning more about Heroes and the dungeons they delve through to get stronger. According to the guide that was trying to help him understand his new life, however, because he was a former Hero, Clay should already know most of what he needed to succeed; all of the finer parts regarding the relationship between Heroes and dungeons, including information about probabilities and drop rates, should be common knowledge.

The problem? Despite wishing that he had been that lucky in his past life, Clay had never been a Hero…but now, he might be forced to become one, though not quite in the way he ever expected.

This book contains Dungeon Core, LitRPG, and GameLit elements including dungeon construction and defense, monster summoning, character progression, and a game-like interface. In addition, many of the probabilities the world is based upon are similar to Gacha-type mechanics. Contains no profanity, harems, or explicit sexual content.

Great beginning

Definitely a great beginning to a new series. A different take on aquiring monsters than the usual.

The numbers may be crunchy the story still good

The numbers may be currency but the story still good It's a good foundation for a new series by a masterful artist as we go through A mistake has been made someone has been made a dozen core who shouldn't have but that becomes a good thing a new fresh perspective new chances new ways of doing things are showing and a shows that there will be a great possibility for progression and growth as we learn more about those possibilities

interisting idea for dugeon core book

so this book is interesting cause for the players in this dugeon to level uses the combining method get so many of this item to level it up. the dungeon core is not able to creat mobs but has to get them by getting crystals that it can spend on eggs to open them to get different star mobs sort of like them card type games. not sure what it is with the core but for some reason it really hates cats

this was a great story I really enjoyed it I look forward to reading the next one

Fun new dungeon series

I love the dungeon crafting series, so decided to give this series a try and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great Dungeon story

A wonderful tale. Wry enjoyable and fun for all ages. Listened with my kids and they loved all of it. Great characters and a good bit of world building. Can’t wait for the next one!

don't listen if you love cats

Wasn't what I expected in a dungeon core book the gatcha element is unique but hard to replicate randomness in a book. as a book it started of Rather slow but has potential. as a cat person I had a very hard time with the characters justified hatred for cats but I managed.

book for autists or really into numbers

I have read many Brooks books already and see one crucial flaw. Most books begins with cool idea and feels like they have big potential, but author is really bad at later books because of bad character developement and too much number crunching.

This book is ok, on the surface there is not much too criticise. But also there is nothing to praise. No cool idea, no interesting characters, no world building, no plot twists, passable action, not much potential to look forward in later books. It's just generic litrpg book and for the first timer it might be good (as many other litrpg books).

The book could be described as watching twitch streamer unpacking thousand Hearthstone card packs with cool animations and some few rounds afterward.

This is a good start to what is hopefully a series. I recommend it. Why not give it a try?
