Publisher's summary

Guarding the Secrets recounts the terror-stricken life and murder of 16-year-old Tina Isa, who was condemned by her other family members for becoming Americanized, before her father, an accused Palestinian terrorist, murdered her in November 1989.

The killing was recorded by accident due to the FBI having bugged the house in an attempt to prove the father's ties to terrorism.

The events leading up to the murder are expertly told by author Ellen Harris, including Tina's older sisters urging their father to kill their younger sister.

What insanity and real tragedy!

What insanity! And what a tragedy! This is an old crime, and actually, an old book. An update with more current information would have been appreciated, but this is a true crime case worth the time to read.

I found keeping track of all the people involved in this case a bit challenging, especially in the beginning, but in the end, it came together for me.

Lee Ann Howlett performs competently. Of course, being true crime, there's not much to challenge her performance.

Better than expected...

very comprehensive on many levels, not just the killing itself. characters well defined, aspects from different cultural viewpoints. shame that people allow religious dogma to justify delusion. tragic story overall but done well.

I am blown away by this book!!!

I can’t even fathom what it sounds like to hear a 17-year-old get murdered by her mother and father. I can’t fathom what it’s like to be a 911 operator been here two sisters get murdered by their father. This book was so shocking anyone who likes true crime FBI stories if you find this interesting or just knowing how are the people live you’re going to love this story. I thought the narrator did a perfect job having the right tone of compassion to her voice. This is a book I would highly recommend.

May God grant them the love and compassion and help and that they didn’t get on earth God bless these poor girls.
