Wonderful translation and reading, but...

Unfortunately, this recording is seriously marred by a loud and obnoxious Audible advertisement that starts IMMEDIATELY after the book is done. It is startling and incredibly out of place, especially considering the nature of this audiobook.

Audible absolutely needs to release an updated version, changing nothing save removing this offensive advertisement, and this would be a fantastic recording!

if you've ever read his translations of Rumi, the Book of Job, etc., you know what i mean!

Would you listen to Tao Te Ching again? Why?

I've read it in paper form, I downloaded it from LibriVox, and I bought it here. This is the best version I've heard and I will definitively listen to it again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Tao Te Ching?

When the reader said that the original Tao Te Ching wasn't gender specific which is against everything organized religion tells us.

What about Stephen Mitchell’s performance did you like?

His ability to read clearly and pronounce the words.

I come back to this audio book more than any other. It’s kind of like a deep tissue massage for your mind and heart. I often forget the principles it teaches and find myself drifting back into unhealthy ways of thought and behavior, but a good long walk outside with this audio book brings me back on track.
