Audiobook newly re-recorded by Sam Torode and Enhanced with Meditative Frequencies

The Tao Te Ching is a series of meditations on the mysterious nature of the Tao—the Way, the guiding light, the very source of all existence. According to Lao Tzu (a name meaning "the old master"), the Tao is found where we would least expect it—not in the strong but in the weak; not in speech but in silence; not in doing but in "not-doing."

Wise yet worldly, spiritual yet practical, the Tao Te Ching is beloved by seekers all the world over. The Ancient Renewal edition is rendered by Sam Torode based on the 1919 translation by Dwight Goddard, making this ancient work accessible to contemporary listeners.

Chill, beautiful masculine reading. Nice background singing bowls. Have compared a few. This is my favorite audiobook version so far.

Great stuff

Was looking for a reliable translation which this seems to be but the production has slightly over the top singing bowls in the background that cuts out between chapters. It wouldnt be an issue but bc each chapter is so short, it has the opposite of a calming and centering effect and feels choppy. Plus the reading is lacking IMO. Much prefer the version translated by Joseph Lumpkin and more importantly read by the GOAT Dennis Logan.

Love the Tao, but the production and performance feels ambitious and poorly executed.
