Frank eats who he pleases

Hungry for another awaken online side story? Don't worry, Franks pretty hungry and eager to please the audience in this title. Follow Frank in his grand adventure of finding who he really is and what it means to be himself. I'll try to avoid spoilers and leave a simple review but it is ABSOLUTELY my favorite side story and actually ranks in my top 2 of these books as my second favorite of this series. Frank hasn't gotten a lot of time to shine and i've been worried that he hasn't gotten to develop as much as the other members of original sin. Well this is no longer the case. Frank gets some real love here from Travis Bagwell on his development as a young man and what it means to accept your flaws and how to move forward. I would be as bold to say that from how this book went Frank will become the embodiment of what it means to be the Left Hand of the Twilight Throne moving on in the series. This is a book that can create some frustration and irritation because of how characters act. The fact that this is not unpleasant shows just how skilled the writing was for this, you can see why people are acting the way they do, and it is done in a way in which is believable and furthers the plot and nuances. It certainly captures just how when someone makes a mistake they would rather not take responsibility for their actions and how its easier to throw someone else under the bus.

Tldr;
If you like Frank or at least don't hate him and want to read about him making the people who threatened his new friends lives a living hell ( Jason would be SO proud ) then this is the book for you!

Best ao story yet

I think this is the best story yet in the series!! Till this point Travis hasn’t done enough with frank even though I believe he is the most full character!! Wonderful exciting story and I love the romance with a npc something that really did need to be addressed more fully because of the realism of the characters

Best one yet

(no spoilers/summary)

If you were underwhelmed by the previous audiobooks in the series, you should know that the writing and narration still aren't.. great. But the story itself is good. Very much so. I can finally like Frank.

If you listened to AO Dominion (previous audiobook), you should definitely listen to this one, Unity.

Try to guess what this title is about; I'll wait.

No I won't wait.

It follows Frank's "side quest", which just means he can step a little out of everyone else's shadow. I didn't care much about Frank, but this was good. I suspect that the consequences of Unity will bleed into the next books. Or I hope they do. Some parts were cute, some were creepy, and others were heartwarming.

The details, dialogue, and humour are still a little cringy, but that price was worth it.

Now go and spend that credit.

Best one of the entire series so far!

I missed Frank in the last book and wanted to see him complete the challenges with Jason and Riley. More as the entire Original Sin please.

Franks Story

I have to say I adored hearing what Frank has been up to, this does not feel like a detraction from the main story but instead feeds delightfully into it.
Another masterpiece by Travis Bagwell, can't wait the next one!

Another fantastic novel by Travis Bagwell

These side stories of Awaken Online flesh out the world of Awaken Online and the supporting characters for Jason.
This novel focuses on Frank, who was long overdue for his own novel. and what a novel it is!
This was very well written and the storyline was excellently planned out, I wish it hadn't ended but unfortunately it did. I hope Travis is a fast writer as I need to delve back in to the world of Awaken Online.

The best thus far

It’s easy to see how Travis’s writing has gotten better as he’s gone along. The story of Frank and his struggles was fantastic, the story, writing and voice acting fit together perfectly to create possibly the best book out of all of the AO series. The new characters added were fantastic and I hope to see some of them continue to show up in the main series.

Keep up the good work, the direction these books are going is amazing and long may it continue!

The weakest one thus far

I enjoy the world and larger story, but I don't think Travis does a good job with the interpersonal relationships and this story in particular just failed to engage me.

Even more difficult for me is that the two worst aspects of this book series are stronger than ever here:
1) Overpower main characters: no spoilers but honestly what exactly were the stakes meant to be when the main character can kill literally anyone and everyone without breaking a sweat?
2) Terribly repetitive language. I hate the word "crimson" now with a terrible passion. I shall never be able to utter it without cringing. And the old favourites like "tendril", "unholy", and "dry tone" are all here in full force. It makes it so difficult to get through these otherwise exciting stories.

Please Mr Bagwell, if you read this, expand your lexicon!! Drop the overused stock phrases like "arrow after arrow", allow your characters to express amusement with something other than a chuckle, and consider tones that aren't so dry. Adopt some variety! It will make a world of difference.

very enjoyable can't wait for more.

a really enjoyable story, it's about time Frank got space to shine in this book.

it's nice to Lear more about the world and have it tie in with Frank's learning.

Best side story so far in the series

This book follows the left hand, Frank, he is a member of orinigal sin. Originally he was timid, weak and hated himself. This story follows his development into a beast. Definately my favourite side story out of the lot... Without spoiling the story... it is amazing, the battles are gory and bloody and the skill progression really defines Frank's character... after reading this I think that Frank could be stronger than Jason (The leader)
