Publisher's summary

First, I want to say that you are never too old to start riding a bike or trike. I didn’t start to ride until I was in my seventies, seriously. Like most people, I rode a bicycle when I was a kid. It was the only way to get around faster than walking or running, and it was fun as well. I watched a documentary a while back that was entitled “Man, and his love for his automobile.” It was a good documentary, but I got to thinking, maybe someone made a good one on biking? Well, I did some research on the Internet and found some. The one “Inspired To Ride” is for the hardcore riders, and I don’t consider myself hardcore but more of an old guy who likes to ride. I had one knee replaced, and the other one should be because of knee pain and I had one inner ear removed because of vertigo, but now I don’t have much in the way of balance when it comes to riding a bike. This balance problem is why I when to a Trike and not a Bike. I have a recumbent Rover Terra Trike with a 24” rear wheel and a motor assist. If you are a hardcore rider, don’t put your nose up at motor assist bikes and trikes. There are bikers out here that are not out to set endurance records but just enjoy the ride. When younger, I love riding my motorcycle with the wind in my face and the freedom of the open road but now that I am older I love the same thing but at a slower pace. That’s where I came up with the title of this book. "Life in the slow lane." If you are an older person or just one who wants to get out and enjoy the feeling of the open road or trail with the wind in your face and be able to know you can make the next hill without having a heart attack, then this book is for you. And if you are a hardcore rider and have loved ones you would like to see our riding; then this book is for you as well. It might help you encourage them to start riding or just give them a copy as a gift.
