Publisher's Summary

Orla has a gift, an ability to sense things she touches: memories, traumas…murders.

On a sunny day in 1975, she sets off on a bike ride into the picturesque countryside and vanishes. She is not the first young woman to go missing and she will not be the last.

Ashes Beneath Her is the third novel in the stand-alone Northern Michigan Asylum Series.

my favorite so far!

i really liked this story! it takes place during the summer in the 70's. Girls and going missing with no witnesses, leads, nothing. the story takes shape around Orla and her disappearance, Hazel, Orla's friend and her search for her and Abe, Liz, her daughter Susie is one of the missing 6 as well. The story is really good and kept me attention. I love the setting, the suspense and the writing. Out of the 2 i've listened to from this series, this one is favorite. i would definitely read more in this series.

I requested this audio book from the author and left this review voluntarily.

Excellent and suspenseful thriller

Orla, who can see the truth from items she touches, disappears after going on a bike ride without a trace. Abe, a journalist, sees a pattern where Orla is the sixth girl that went missing in the area. The police wont help since there is no evidence, no bodies, and no witnesses. Abe is on a mission to find out the truth.

When i started listening to this book, i didnt even realise it was the third in the Northern Michigan Asylum series. It stands alone and was a brilliant story! You hear various perspectives, as well as Orla's journey since she disappeared. It is gripping and exciting and kept me intrigued throughout. I absolutely loved it!

Margy narrated very well and made the story even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this story and look forward to hearing more in the series!

Fantastic

Once again the author drew me in and kept me wanting more. A rather haunting story and well worth the time. The narrator brought the world and characters to life. I was given a free copy of this book in return for an unbiased review.

Best Thus Far

I enjoy this standalone series and feel this is the best one so far. I enjoyed the character developments and a couple from the last books. In this book Orla has been taken like several other young girls and bring attention to reporter Abe who is searching for the serial killer/kidnapper. He meets Liz whose daughter Susan has been missing and Orla’s friend Hazel meet with him. Other characters include Bethany, Ben, Spencer, Dr Crowe, and Dr Fredrick to name a few and Orla has special gift of sense of things she touches. Just listen to this murder thriller, cannot wait for next one. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you

Awesome paranormal thriller.

What an unbelievable awesome paranormal thriller. How the author wove the story kept me on the edge of my seat. I don’t see books with my home town in it so that made this book even more personal to me. Six girls are missing and one reporter and a friend of that last girl taken worked together to solve this mystery. Suspects, following any lead possible even the ones that sounded a bit off the wall, took Abe on a twisted road. Margy Stein was outstanding as the narrator.
