This book has little to do with songwriting

I gave this book over 30 minutes to hopefully get in to some real songwriting tips and heard very little. The author is preoccupied with preaching about God and how God created music for us.
I'm a church going Christian, but bought this book to pick up a few new songwriting tips. Unfortunately, I don't feel like that's what I got. I only received a sermon and stories about how God has inspired the author to write.
Complete waste of my time and money...

Heart in the Art

“God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Sam 16:7)

David Baroni, from the heart, communicates “heart” and insight on the “art” from that perspective and does so with humility and clarity.

If you are a song writer or aspire to be…then this audiobook will serve you in the process and will give a treasured insight from one who has been graced to pen a myriad of outstanding and timeless songs. But more… far more…the listener will hear - heart. The art will improve with use but it is the heart that gives the art its power.

What a joy to invest less than 10 dollars to spend time with such a treasure.

An easy ROI of time and money!

Not worth the price, even if it’s free.

Somehow I listened to the entire audiobook. I don’t know why I put myself through such torture. This book has very little to do with songwriting. It’s a sermon, and not a good sermon at that. There are better resources on Christian music than this, if that’s what you’re interested in. I expected more from such an accomplished composer/songwriter.
