Henry Winkler, launched into prominence as “The Fonz” in the beloved Happy Days, has transcended the role that made him who he is. Brilliant, funny, and widely regarded as the nicest man in Hollywood (though he would be the first to tell you that it’s simply not the case, he’s really just grateful to be here), Henry shares in this achingly vulnerable memoir the disheartening truth of his childhood, the difficulties of a life with severe dyslexia, the pressures of a role that takes on a life of its own, and the path forward once your wildest dream seems behind you.

Behind the curtain of her happy on-screen persona, Valerie Bertinelli’s life has been no easy ride, especially when it comes to her own self-image and self-worth. She waged a war against herself for years, learning to equate her value to her appearance as a child star on One Day at a Time and punishing herself in order to fit into the unachievable Hollywood mold. She struggled to make her marriage to Eddie Van Halen—the true love of her life—work, despite all the rifts the rock-star lifestyle created between them.

Publisher's summary
Before becoming America's first-ever female network chief meteorologist or appearing on Dancing with the Stars, ABC News's Ginger Zee checked herself into a mental health hospital.
Natural Disaster: I Cover Them. I Am One. is Ginger's heartbreaking, hilarious, and harshly honest life story - from Dickhead's (you won't soon forget that name) deck on Lake Michigan to her storm-chasing dream at ABC News.
Ginger opens up about her lifelong battle with crippling depression, her romances that ranged from misguided to dangerous, and her tumultuous professional path. This cyclone of stories may sound familiar to some - it's just that Ginger's personal tempests happened while she was covering some of the most devastating storms in recent history, including a ferocious tornado that killed a legend in the meteorology field.
She also canceled her first wedding - twice - because she finally listened to her inner voice, which was saying, This isn't right, but then she happened to fall in love with her gay best friend. Yes, twice. Yes, gay.
On the sunny side, this book is for all the mistake makers who have learned to forgive others and themselves - even in the aftermath of man-made, or in this case Ginger-made, disasters. It's a story that every young woman should read, a story about finding love in the world and finding it in yourself.
Beloved by Good Morning America's audience, Ginger is a daily presence for millions. She's gained fame for her social media presence, which is as unfiltered as Natural Disaster - from baby barf to doggy doo-doo. She's shattered the glass ceiling for women in meteorology but admits here first she's the one natural disaster she couldn't have forecast.

Story
Best-selling author Bryan Burrough recently made a shocking discovery: The small town of Temple, Texas, where he had grown up, had harbored a dark secret. One of his high school classmates, Danny Corwin, was a vicious serial killer. In this chilling tale, Burrough raises important questions of whether serial killers can be recognized before they kill or rehabilitated after they do. It is also a story of Texas politics and power that led the good citizens of the town of Temple to enable a demon who was their worst nightmare.

Story
For his victims, for their families and for the investigators tasked with finding him, the senselessness and brutality of the Golden State Killer's acts were matched only by the powerlessness they felt at failing to uncover his identity. Then, on April 24, 2018, authorities arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo at his home in Citrus Heights, Calif., based on DNA evidence linked to the crimes. Amazingly, it seemed, evil finally had a name. Please note: This work contains descriptions of violent crime and sexual assault and may not be suitable for all listeners.

Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne. In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

In weeks after the September 11 attacks, 18-year-old Mansoor Adayfi was kidnapped by Afghan militia and sold to US forces for bounty money. After months of interrogations, he was sent to the US military prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, as one of its first prisoners. Like the nearly 800 other men imprisoned at Guantanamo, Adayfi didn’t know why he was imprisoned or for how long. He had never seen a skyscraper and couldn’t imagine what the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center looked like, much less how they were destroyed.

It is nearly impossible to build healthy, sustainable bonds with others without first having a good relationship with yourself. To get along with others, we often alter our habits or subsume our unique personalities. By trying to transform or suppress our true selves, we erode our self-worth and self-knowledge. We begin to lose sight of who we really are and what we truly want. When are self-understanding and self-confidence are damaged, it ultimately hurts our relationships.

And after a lifetime of being clueless, Druckerman can finally grasp the subtext of conversations, maintain (somewhat) healthy relationships and spot narcissists before they ruin her life. Outstanding in Both Ways
Ginger Zee has written an amazing book that allows you to pull back the curtain and see how her life has truly been. It's not just what one assumes from TV.
It is read by Ginger with sincere storytelling. She should add reading for Audible, for those who don't read their own books to her busy schedule. I wish I could listen to Ginger read more books.

She is courageous and infectious and has a great deal to teach others about relationships, career choices and most importantly self-love. An inspiration to so many!

True, this book is NOT one to teach you how to deal with depression, but is a genuine glimpse into the life of someone we see as having it "all together". Ginger Zee embraces her disastrous side and shows us how to come to terms and function through the disasters in our own lives.

Great to listen to the author & feel her reality check. Just because someone is famous doesn't mean they are perfect. I admire her sharing it all!! Thanks Ginger..
