She sees her life with a new perspective

it is hard to talk about this book without giving it all away, but it has to do with Abby re-evaluating her life, past and present, with the perspective that her best friend (now passed) is not the friend Abby thought she was. beautifully written, you can see how Abby is mistreated by many around herself, how she gaslights herself into accepting it, and how she eventually finds herself in the end. Sad, lovely, full of self loathing and with painful perception, the narration *makes* this story, and the narrator sells it splendidly. excellent read if you love a tale of dreadful reality for the female ugly friend.

Great listen and the narrator was excellent! Enjoyed the characters and twisted and deserved ending!

The story grabbed me from the beginning and I could not stop listening and found every reason possible to be alone with this book until I finished it.

A Reflection for Many

This book is a reflection of how so many people live: caught up in the opinion of others and not realizing their true value and identity in Christ. If you're reading this...SOAR, my friend, above the insecurities of others.

Predictable.

I try to avoid weak FMCs. "Aren't We Lucky" is a story about a rather spineless woman who latched onto a charismatic frenemy. The FMC is supposed to be from an underprivileged background but rubs shoulders with a rich group and ends up having everything handed to her. I didn't find any of the characters to be interesting or likable. The story itself was a good but predictable mystery.

Enjoyed the twist!

Unique plot and super fun twist. I excited for more from this author. Also, loved the narration

A rich cast of characters and a beautiful surprise ending sails into the sunset—unsullied and free.

Love this story

Good storytelling, good pacing. Some chapters almost feel like very nice short stories because of their depth. (But it is definitely in the structure of a novel.) There's a good structure that explicitly tells you how old the main characters are at each step. I also enjoyed the music at the end. it's nice to have music to take a minute to reflect on the book.

The storyline wasn’t the greatest. I found myself bored frequently. Not a very exciting story.
