Since the apocalypse began, Bain Lee has survived with a class that should never have been intended for combat.

Using his ability to see into the true nature of the System, he has turned the ocularist class into a powerhouse on the battlefield. His time on this new Earth has changed him, transformed him into what he was always meant to be: A leader among humanity, a general among all sentient species.

Will his powers and the arrival of a new ally be enough to save what remains of sentient creatures afflicted by the System's arrival?

The Architect of Fate has Bain in her sights, and it will take power beyond imagining if Bain Lee is to save the System's victims and bring down the Crucible.

the story is amazing i feel like they rushed the ending though. the performance is really good however they recycled a few voices so it gets hard to figure who is from the vocal cues. the book will always let you know who is speaking it is just I found myself at times confused when I was told who was talking like, I thought this character was talking but it was a different one.

oh my wow

Every single reader save maybe .5% would have liked to see Yelena and Bains relationship fleshed out a lot more.

Really? A whole subplot was completely missed
