Beautifully written - filled with Hope!

Aaron shares his journey in a way that encourages and inspires anyone suffering with mental health issues to take courage in knowing you are not alone. He also gives so much practical advice on how to take steps forward in the process of healing. This book is full of hope!

Honest look at Anxiety and Depression

Most honest & raw book that I’ve listened to on this topic. It’s okay to not be okay.

Life Changing

This book has really brought me much encouragement and a new resolve to use my anxiety, depression and other mental health struggles to minister to others. I have really been hard on myself for a long time that I couldn't "get it together". The timing was perfect for God to speak to my heart. I have loved Jesus for a long time, however now I am becoming more peaceful and really loved by HIM.
I really am thankful for the author's openness and vulnerability. I am now on the same path. God is always patient and faithful!

Part memoir, part biblical commentary & self help

As a Christian who has struggled with both anxiety and depression most of my life, I found this book challenging and necessary. The author addresses many common beliefs perpetrated by the church regarding mental health, those who deal with mental health issues, and the causes of mental health problems. I found it challenging because I have frequently heard many of the statement brought up in this book from pastors and other well-meaning Christians in regards to my battle with depression. They sound correct but don't hold up to biblical scrutiny. This book pointed out what God says regarding the mental health struggles faced by those in the Bible and provided hope in my long-term struggle.

The book is short enough to listen to in an evening yet deep enough to encourage a second listen in order to glean all of the details. I will be listening again soon to take notes of all of the biblical references. I recommend this book to anyone who has struggled with anxiety and depression, all caretakers and friends of those who have struggled, and to all church members who counsel those who struggle.

I really enjoyed this read. It was helpful for those of us experiencing any kind of anxiety or depression, and for those of us who love someone who is. I felt like I could relate on multiple levels.

Faith and struggle CAN coexist

I liked how examples of these conditions were pointed out and how obvious they are - yet overlooked or ignored by the church. Thank you for giving such great words for those who feel alone with anxiety and depression - and other mental illnesses.
