What a timely gift from God!

This has been such a blessing to listen to. I just finished my third listen through the book!

If you want to experience Jesus, really, this shows the way. I’ve been a follower of Jesus, and a serious follower at that, for most of my life (almost 30) and there’s things in here that were new to me. It beautifully explains the problem of why we tend to not really experience Jesus that much in the West. Lovingly pointing out the issues, without any shaming or condemnation. Then, shows us the bigger context of our story and what our place is. And most importantly, how to actually experience Jesus! What might that look like and a path to grow into.

What inner healing awaits if you take this seriously. I wish that anyone who would claim to be a follower of Jesus would read or listen to this! I have been able to get my parents and brothers into reading this and doing the study guide together, and it has been immensely impactful.

Spiritual growth is at its core

Every one of his books is like a drink of spring water when I’m in the desert and this one is no different. I love his narration. His voice is very calming and clear. This book brought me closer to God and anything that brings me closer to God is worth my time.

Ordinary Mystics

I am trying to not overstate or be hyperbolic, but this is a true blue paradigm shift. This past year or so has been an eye opening one, where I have become increasingly more aware of the Unseen Realm and our part on it.

Some of what I've read and have been taught was fascinating, but I didn't really know what to do with it. Information without transformation.

John Eldredge's book here tells you everything to do about it, from becoming an Ordinary Mystic to engaging on spiritual warfare in Christ's authority. Understand that I've been a Christian and a minister for years and much of the teachings in this book are considered fringe or for the Saints of the church. This is not correct. John teaches in a pastoral and authoritative manner. He's like the spiritual father many of us Disciples of the Internet have never experienced. I don't usually double dip when it comes to books, but this is one case where it's highly recommended. The audiobook has additional riffs and teachings on the written content. The text could easily be highlighted through and through.

Please read this book, please listen to it, and please take your time!

Like sitting at the foot of our Lord! So much in this book!

I will read this book over and over. I’ve listened to chapters 11 and 12 at least 4 times. Gleaning the spiritual knowledge and training in these chapters. I was able to close the chapter on some areas of my life. Finally! After walking thru these chapters. I have experienced-God-really. Highly recommend this book.

Tools for Breakthrough

This book covers many different aspects of one theme: freedom and union with Jesus, Abba, and Holy Spirit. If you or a loved one have experienced trauma, either small or large, the pages of this book will help bring healing to you. Plus, give you tools to help others. John has such a soothing way about him that it is so easy to listen. He is a very good story teller as well. I highly recommend this book, and I say, Well done, John.

How much I needed and wanted this book without even knowing it!

Thank you, Mr. Etheridge for doing the narration. This is a Spirit driven lifeline for Christians in this day who are desperately seeking communion with Jesus.
