Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Nalini Singh returns to her breathtaking Psy-Changeling Trinity series with a mating that shouldn't exist...

Alpha wolf Selenka Durev's devotion to her pack is equaled only by her anger at anyone who would harm those under her care. That currently includes the empaths who've flowed into her city for a symposium that is a security nightmare, a powder keg just waiting for a match.

Ethan Night is an Arrow who isn't an Arrow. Numb and disengaged from the world, he's loyal only to himself. Assigned as part of the security force at a world-first symposium, he carries a dark agenda tied to the power-hungry and murderous Consortium. Then violence erupts and Ethan finds himself crashing into the heart and soul of an alpha wolf.

Mating at first sight is a myth, a fairy tale. Yet Selenka's wolf is resolute: Ethan Night, broken Arrow and a man capable of obsessive devotion, is the mate it has chosen. Even if the mating bond is full of static and not quite as it should be. Because Selenka's new mate has a terrible secret, his mind surging with a power that is a creature of madness and death...

Contains mature themes.

Coronavirus Fog

I love Nalini Singh so I’m going to say that my boredom with Alpha Night has to be related to our current COVID lockdown fog. Normally I love the Psy-Changling series too but for some reason this one seemed too slow, boring and just not that interesting. Again...I’m a huge fan so I’m chalking it up to the curse that is the year 2020.

Singh keeps getting better...

Nalini Singh crafts magnificent stories that draw readers into potent relationships with all of her characters and Alpha Night was no exception. I loved Solenka and Ethan’s story as well as the way it differed from a traditional “Love at first sight” story. This book takes you on a journey through love, doubt, and uncertainty in the face of a bond that neither expected while threats to the pack and world at large loomed. I can’t wait to see what comes next in the Psy-Changeling Trinity world!

Excellent story and installment in the series

The Publisher’s Summary does a good job tweaking your interest in the storyline and Ms Singh does a great job delivering.
If you follow the Psy-Changeling series you’ll love this one.
Dawe continues to amaze with her character differentiation and communication of emotion.

This is a pivotal story! DO NOT MISS!

So, let me by first starting off saying that I love this series. Not just the Trinity series but the WHOLE series, Psy-Changeling. When I was first introduced, I was happy that someone came up with a wonderful new idea of paranormal. As I dived deeper into this world, I became connected to all the characters. For a writer to have a reader so invested as though the characters are part of one’s own family is amazing.

When it was announced that Selenka, the Wolf Alpha, that we met in Silver Silence was getting her own book I was a bit confused but excited. I was confused only because the previous book, Wolf Rain, left off. I thought we were going to be seeing more of the Empaths camp. I was excited because we are going back to Russia and we might be seeing Silver and the bears. I am doing not know who this new character was, but I should have never thought there was going to be anything but magic when Nalini Singh decides to tell a story in this series.

When we are introduced to Selenka and Ethan it was instance chemistry. Over the course of the series we have seen chemistry but nothing to this magnitude. They matted within an hour of the audiobook. At that moment I knew that this was going to be a great book. I enjoyed the way that they interacted with one another. There were no secrets between the two of them. There was no dancing around and we got to see Ethan become a wonder character to this series. I loved the interact he had with the Arrows and with Selenka's wolves.

This story revealed a lot about what is happening to the net and more about the Architect. We knew that she was a woman but now we know that her power is increasing, and she is doing things that might destroy the Psy race. This book is pivotal. There was so much exposed and yet so many questions that need to be answered. If this book needed to be written. It also lets us know how the net is responding to everything. I am looking forward to the next book and I wonder who the main characters will be. I hope that it will be Patient Zero, Pax Marshall.

I am very happy that Angela Dawe narrated this story. She does such a wonder job.

Boring and Forgettable

Painfully trudged through this boring story and extremely far fetched pairing or bonding. It was ridiculous and the narration furthered the poor state of this story. The lead protagonist reminded me of a rabid badger. I found nothing appealing with the exception of the backstory. Save your credit! Not all psy-changeling stories are created equal.

Very choppy

I love Nalini’s books, but this one has all this extra information, like going back in time or other people,s thoughts. Not my favorite!

was hooked from page 1

Selenka is a strong alpha. She is very dedicated to her pack and knows what they need and when. Selenka also knows how to balance her new mate Ethan and their budding relationship.
Ethan- an arrow with a troubled past- is not sure where he fits in and what is wrong with his mind. To himself- he is broken/ damaged from being in the hands of Ming.
They work together to protect their people and to also help Ethan fix himself.
Great character chemistry, plenty of steam, old characters come for a visit (so glad to see them).
This book is part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone (just be prepared if you have not read some of the other books - you may find out who is mated and may wonder about what has previously happened.
The narrator does a fabulous job voicing different characters and has a smooth quality to her voice that kept me intrigued throughout .

New Turn, Working Outward

Really enjoyed this and how the author is reaching outward and expanding the storyline. New characters not previously talked about or just glossed over becoming more "main character" in their story is pretty cool to see.

Awesome series

I love the flow of the books and the suspense. I also like how Nalini Singh drops little clues and when you try to figure it out, it is not what it seems.
