Publisher's Summary

I am Alora, and for hundreds of years, I have been queen. Ruling over one of the most remote parts of the world, I spend my summers riding upon a wild stallion, my winters as a winged wolf, never changing and forever at an eternal 16.

Then, he arrives.

Against my better judgment, I find myself falling for a stranger. Unable to tame my wild heart, I’m forced to face the fact that humans and immortals can never be together.

If I choose to love August, I will lose my eternal life, and will die. Yet, there’s a monster lurking in the shadows - a hunter determined to make me his prize.

I must make the most challenging decision of my life: true love or immortality?

I really enjoyed listening to this book. It is different than many of the books I have read in the past and I think that is why I enjoyed it so much. I was on the edge of my seat until the end. Definitely recommend it!

Please listen till the end

The ending left me feeling warm and fuzzy. I almost didn’t finish it. It took me a while to get into it but I am so glad I stuck to it. A wonderful story and I am so glad to have heard.

Hard time connecting with characters

I just couldn’t get into this book. Maybe there was a good story there that I was missing, but it just wasn’t the book for me. I had a hard time connecting with the characters and a hard time understanding the real point of this book.

loved this book, its a must read/listen

I really enjoyed the story. I actually read/ listen to it in one sitting, getting caught up in the plot. It was a beautiful teenage romance story. The fantasy element was unique and original, making for an exciting read. Alora's character was fun and independent. August was a cute and caring boy. Both characters were very likable and easy to root for. There was danger, betrayal and love. This romantic fantasy was very enjoyable and a lil sad 😥 in a small part. The narrator also did a good job making me feel all the emotions

Alora

This book is very interesting. It was not what I was expecting. I really enjoyed Megan Linski's take on shifters and immortals. I would recommend this book for young teens and older.

Nothing like I have ever heard before!

The author created a unique world where immortals live a primitive lonely life in the woods. Alora lives in human form riding a wild horse during the summer months, but during the winter, she becomes a winged wolf. The character development is good and Alora comes across arrogant, selfish, and lonely at first. The world development is good and you feel like you are in the story experiencing everything she is. Narration fits the story well and brought the story to life. Alora's world changes after she observes a young boy. The years pass by quickly and before she knows it, he comes back as a young man. The story moves at a good pace until things go downhill for her. The author had me so wrapped up in the story that I was really upset and frustrated with the way the story went dark. I was not happy with all she had to deal with, one issue after another. I felt really attached to the characters and it was awhile before I could relax a bit. There were some unexpected twists that I did not see coming. The story was stressful towards the conclusion but things wrapped up nicely and I was content with how everything turned out.

this is a story about love and lessons learned and how to be free. This isn't really my preferred genre but i really enjoyed this magical little story about a mythical creature who falls for a regular boy. There is adventure, change, danger and sacrifice. Its a sweet story and is a quick listen. The narration is good, very ethereal feeling.

For younger listeners

I was excited for this story and the concept is interesting. It has a unique take on the shifter ability. As much as I wanted to love this story, I could not get into it. The relationship Alora has with August just wasn't believe for me. If I were younger, I think I might have enjoyed it more which is why I added a star to my rating.
