Publisher's Summary

When Alcatraz and Grandpa Smedry make a pilgrimage to the Free Kingdom city of Crystallia, the Smedry home base, Alcatraz is shocked to see that he is, in fact, a legend. When he was a baby he was stolen by the Evil Librarians, and his mother, a Librarian herself, was behind the whole scheme. Now, with his estranged father, who is acting indeed strange, Bastille, who has been stripped of her armor, and Grandpa Smedry, who is, as always, late to everything (that's his Talent), Alcatraz tries to save a city under siege. From whom? Why, the Librarians of course!

The books are getting shorter and costing more.

I like these books, but they are way overpriced. The books are down to five hours now and cost way too much. The author jokes in his book about tricking you into buying more of his books, but the joke had far too much truth to it.

As Funny As Before!!!!

I do like that there isn't much repeat of environment in this series, this one was finally based in the one of the 3 kingdoms and the way of life there is very interesting.

Brandon Sanderson shows how funny he can get in this series, and I do love those breaks between each chapter, they are really funny. and its ending is always funny.

You get to see how special and strong Alcatraz is in this book. and also what authority he has in these kingdoms.

Really enjoyed and laughed a lot.. beware food and drinks while listening to it.

Narrator

Ramon De Ocampo does a fantastic job of translating a book clearly written to be read in physical form into something that can be fully understood in audio form.

The fun continues!

I've reviewed the two previous entries in this series. As Alcatraz himself might say, you shouldn't skip the first two reviews and start on the third! Suffice to say that the series' blend of weirdness, meta humor, fourth wall breaks, snark, and fantastical action continues in a worthy successor to the previous titles. This time around, we finally get to see life as it goes in the Three Kingdoms, and the overarching plot involving the Librarians' plans for the Lenses of Rashid moves ahead in significant ways.

Once again, Ramon De Ocampo imbues Alcatraz with a playful and vivacious tone that fits the character perfectly.

Highly recommended if you liked the previous books.

Amazing Fun

Another great book from Brandon Sanderson. We have been purchasing the hard back and audio books together so my son can enjoy the full experience. This was another laugh out loud, great to the last page, family fun book.

very good<br />

It is written for young adults; however, adults like it. It is written to entertain and to teach about writing.

Great story of a horrible person.

Alcatraz is a deceitful, selfish and dishonest person, but this is a fun way to learn his autobiographical story.
