Publisher's summary

Matt and Chris have made it home ahead of the undead curse, but at what cost?

The dungeon is surrounded, the refugees have made it to safety, but . . . they need food, water, space to recover and rest, and none of these things come cheap. That cost must be paid in mana.

Mike and Kelly were sent to bring reinforcements from the park, but they're walking into a meatgrinder, one that will strip the life from them, then raise them to besiege those they love . . .

Matt has only one chance . . . lead the refugees, forge them anew into a force that can face the undead, in their tens of thousands.

Worst of all . . . the beer's damn well warm.

good book

I really don't like the minimum word count requirements for audible reviews. . .

Avoid silly reviews and read this

This book was phenomenal. Yes there are many female characters that are strong. I am here to tell you the main character is not limited or lessened by this. He is still masculine, intelligent and a strong lead. There are just as many women as men in this world. Often times there are more. As the week are killed off in an Apocalypse like event the ones that survive are going to be strong. The main character has the final say on all decisions but yewhen all decisions but yes he does listen to others and many times these figures are women. Often times they are not. Do not let insecurities from other reviewers review of a great book filled with fantastic lit RPG, Cultivation and dungeon core elements all done perfectly. This book draws you in and performs well. There is legitimately only one time in the entire book where I feel that Kelly disrespected the main character. Many reviewers say that she takes over which is absurd because that's simply not the case. She worked in the court system and is an intelligent woman intelligent woman whose brother is special forces. Did they expect her to be some weak willed woman?? Her back story makes it impossible and she is a good fit for Matt. I loved the 1st 2 books and allowed reviewers to delay my purchasing of this book for months. Don't do the same it's great and I can't wait for the next

Another great book

There was action from the beginning all the way to the end! No boring parts no slow spots and no glossing over important information. Good book

Excellent story!

I am enjoying the story. This is a new twist on the virtual reality meets AD&D. I enjoy the premise of the story line with the rich array of characters. Be warned, the language can be a little rough, which is accurate for the times used, but not always suitable for the wife and grandkids. 😉

Overall decent but could use some polish.

The story is interesting and engaging with a decent spin on the system apocalypse type books. I like the dungeon development and the fight scenes are pretty decent. The random overly obnoxious rage bait characters that get thrown in on occasion to make the MC look good by comparison get pretty old pretty quick.
My only real issue is with the hyper sexualisation of every female character by the main character. We get it. He would sleep with literally anything that moves and apparently must describe every women he meets by how much he wants to sleep with them. It doesn’t add to the story and is just annoying. The double standards of the women being blatantly sexist and harassing the male characters with little to no repercussions after throwing a huge fit of even the thought of the inverse is rather annoying as well. It just makes them hypocrites and rather unlikeable as characters. This wouldn’t be such an issue if it was intentional but it’s clear the author intended you to like those characters.

Not a great book. Not a terrible book. If you are in between other series releases and need something to kill the time then this could be for you. Otherwise I’d give this series a pass and move on to another.

Wow

A book series that I actually dislike pretty much all the central characters and their horrible decisions. However I’m still here after book 3 so I guess I also make iffy decisions.
