Dear Listener,

Why should you listen to this story now?
"In the lead-up to the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, we asked a couple of dozen current and former FBI agents who were at the attack sites and around the world that day to tell us about the investigation they led, the terrorists they captured and interrogated, and the crime scenes they spent months digging through. The result is an original, sweeping, and active saga of the FBI’s 9/11 investigation—the biggest case in FBI history. Many of the stories had never been told, much less heard together. The news of the Taliban’s sudden return to power in Afghanistan adds an unexpected importance to this story. The war in Afghanistan was a consequence of 9/11. Twenty years ago, the FBI embedded with the military and helped them identify targets to dismantle al-Qaeda and capture suspects. Back then, the Taliban gave Osama bin Laden safe harbor. We hope that history will not repeat itself. We also hope that listeners will find this series not just riveting but also valuable as the history of 9/11 and its aftermath continues to be written and understood." –- Peter McDonnell and Bobby Chacon, creators and writers of After the Fall

Memories passed down through storytelling have been a vital part of culture since the dawn of civilization, and we've all had moments of pained reminiscence: Where were you on that day? Excellent

Well worth my time regardless of already being generally familiar with much (but certainly not all) of what is presented here, and in first person. Informative, constructive and just very well done all-around. Thank you.

Enthralling listen!

This was an amazing narrative that offers the most complete picture of the 9/11 investigation to date. Hearing the stories of those who responded to Ground Zero, the Pentagon, and Shanksville in their own words was profoundly moving. I have a greater understanding of 9/11 in the larger context of history and how policies at the FBI and the CIA changed as a result. This is a must-listen for anyone who wants the full story on the 9/11 attacks from people who were knee deep in it.

from interesting, to only FBI are good guys

Started with some interesting perspectives and information. Noticed that it was quick to credit the FBI and blame everyone else. Started to take on The feel of a FBI puff piece borderline advertisement. Glossed over any mistakes by the FBI while highlighting everyone else’s. Too much bias to really be useful.

A great book.

Enjoyed listening to this fascinating story of what the FBI did not just on 9-11, but what was going on prior to and after the event. i a. proud of them for sticking to their ideals and going at this with intent of prosecuting those behind the attack. Who knows how many lives might have been saved if not for the presidents determination to invade Iraq instead of sticking to the actual goal of getting Bin Laden & those responsible.

This is Audible's very best.

This is by far the very best thing I have listened to since becoming an Audible subscriber. Every episode makes you feel like you're right there alongside the FBI. I like how they went into detail about what was essentially the good, the bad, and the ugly of the entire investigation. This is not just a podcast it is an experience.

fascinating

The detail this goes into is remarkable.
like many others I saw the second plane hit live on TV. It was a sickening moment that I'll never forget.
The diligence and dogged determination of the FBI Agents, often in the face of obfuscation from the CIA and others, is testament to their desire to try to get justice for those murdered on 9/11.
Well worth a read.

An interesting listen

A very sad account told well.

I was very moved by the struggles of the agents involved. The difficulties they had getting intel from the CIA was unacceptable.

Scary to think that the tragedy of 9/11 could have possibly been prevented.

I recommend this podcast highly.

Excellent Production. Great Story

One of the best productions I have listened to this far on Audible. To call it a podcast is rather underselling it. A confronting yet fascinating inside look on the events prior to and post 9/11. Highly recommend.
