great

the story is a blast and if you ignore the status reading at the end of each chapter it is all the better

Still a fun romp, with lots of stats

I personally find the story full of humour, zest and sillyness but in a good way.
Yes there are a lot of stats but I decided to not let it annoy me and so it didn’t. Mostly it was woven into the narration, but a few times you get hit with it out of the blue.
The narrator does a good job, but I wish there were more pauses as I sometimes found it hard to keep my attention on the very long inner monologues and had to rewind.
Otherwise a good 4 star book all around.

Addition after book 7:
The series get better and the world building we only get hints of now will get more detailed as it progresses and “loose” ends tie together one after another while new plot twists get introduced.

I do recommend the series

Book 2 Success

An excellent continuation of the series of a small preview of Elaine's future prospects, in more ways than one.

good book to much stats

I really don't like the minimum word count requirements for audible reviews. . . .

enjoyed but…

I’d say that over all it’s a good story, it’s kept me listening, kept my attention while driving and at work. Bought the next book because beside the small issues I have, want to see where the story goes.

Would I say get the book. Well if you listened to the first one and want to see where it goes yes, by now you’d know if it was your cup of tea or not.

My only issue, and it seems to be on course with other reviews. The leveling system is odd, but what gets me pulled out a bit each time is the random stat breakdown of the MC,
Talking about flowers, boom! Stat page, she didn’t level up before, didn’t change a skill, just random stat break down for no reason based on the current moment in the story, maybe just a page filler?
That’s really the one thing that bugged me the most.

Overall. I enjoyed it. Going to start the next book because I do want to see where it goes. Hope this helped

So good

Love these books, love the narration. Fabulously fleshed out relationships. Believable character development. Excellent narration.

OMG such a good book.

Okay, OK Silkie Myth has won me over. It may have taken a plague to do it but I love Elaine. I've seen several reviews berating Elaine for making dumb decisions. But, they're wrong, I say she's young and still learning as she skills-up in power and learns more about the system. At least she's not one for displaying teen angst, she got over with that in her first life taking both good and bad in stride. As she fights/heals her way across the countryside with her comrades in arms.

I love farreting out quotes that amuse me, here's just one of those...

"She came back and found me being silly playing with fire I'd made a fancy stage and had little flame actors running around trying to mimic Romeo and Juliette."

While still overall really enjoyable...

There where, for me, two glaring issues.
First: While overall the narration of Andrea Emmes has been booth consistent and pleasant, For this book I had to take the play speed down to 85% because it felt very rushed. As if she carried the energy of the character over into the reading of the book. This also caused some of the character to feel kind of flat at times.

Second: I love litrpgs but the novelty starts to wear thin when it the stat-page is read what feels like every other chapter. It Started to get to the point where i was treating it like the stat page of my games and pressing X to skip.

Great second book!

I loved this story and the glimpses it gives of the over arching plot and where things are going. This story has some truly unique aspects to it that just aren't in other series, and though I think the story/MC's quirks might turn some away, I find them to be a refreshing change to the genre, and I will buy the third book as soon as it comes out on Audible.
