LIFE AND DEATH LIE IN HER HANDS
Iris overcame the threat of excommunication, but now she faces something far worse. The bells of war are tolling, and an enemy nation stands poised to strike. Why, then, is there talk of dismantling the kingdom's armed forces? As Iris desperately shores up her duchy's own defenses, she must answer a question from one of her closest companions, Dida: "If it comes to war, are you prepared to order us to kill?"

There’s a deeper side to the antagonist.

As for the Narrator, she has a lovely voice. Somehow reminds me of wind chimes. She's engaged in the narrative and does her best with providing voices for the various characters. Her pronunciation is clear and crisp, paced well, and easy to listen to. Some of the men's voices are at the edge of her vocal range, but it by no means detracts from the experience.
Lovely Story, Capable Narrator

It is definitely slow burning the romance which I'm rarely a fan of but at least the reasoning makes some sense. I just wish the MC would be less oblivious about who her love interest actually is.
The narration is amazing but she does tend to do the same voices for all the "old people," but it is never really an issue.
I will be continuing when they finally release Book 4 on audible
Still a good story
