A very enjoyable listen. Great Narrator

This was a good story. The characters were well developed and the story had a very nice pace and flow. I liked that it was not just about a witch but also a marine biologist/animal rescue worker. The mystery taking place was well developed and unfolds at the all the Right times. The romance was done well as the two main characters took their time and actually got to know each other. My only complaint, the sex scenes felt like they were thrown in for fanfare and not necessary for the plot. They were done well, but the story could have progressed the same with out them or just a mention of them. I don’t have any issue with sex scenes, but they just felt like they were added to garner sales to a certain audience versus having a straight forward romantic comedy. Not a deal breaker by any means and I still would recommend this book.

The narration was done quite well by Kate Tyler. She brings the characters to life with a great repertoire of voices.

I requested a free review copy of this audiobook and I am leaving a voluntary and honest review.

Sweet Easy Read

If you are looking for a sweet easy read this is it. There is not much action or conflict in this book and there is alot of extra unnecessary fluff. Numerous times things are mentioned that I thought would come into play later but they never did and then other times things happen wit no explanation when there really needed to be one. That being said it was a very enjoyable story overall and everything was wrapped up nicely at the end. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story to life with easy to understand and distinguishable character voices.

A Steamy Listen

This is a wonderful story with just the right amount of steam, mystery, magic and mayhem! I loved it!! It is well written and the characters are fun to get to know. I definitely will be checking out more stories in this series as well as by this author! If you're looking for a sexy listen with a great story line, characters to fall in love with and plenty of action to keep you interested then you should check out this book! The narrator, Kate Tyler, did an absolutely awesome job!! She gave the characters such life and her voices...off the charts!! She really made the story come to life for me.

Romance heavy but not bad

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a decent book. I'm not a huge fan of the romance genre, but have found I can still enjoy paranormal romance stories if they are balanced. This one fell on the romance side a bit, but not so much that I couldn't still enjoy it. It had just enough paranormal aspects, though, to keep my attention. Kate Tyler's narration is great and is a large part of why I was able to finish the book. If you're a big fan of romance books, you'll love it. If you are like me, and don't mind some romance with your urban fantasy, then you will probably enjoy it, though that will depend on your romance threshold.

Daunting dreams, with powers!

Love and romances converge amongst even the most daunting of dramas. Pepper finds herself inheriting the place of her dreams, with stings attached, and looming.

An Exciting Journey Through Lobster Cove!

This is a fun, entertaining listen full of magic, romance, humor and paranormal creatures. I really enjoyed it and, in fact, finished the book in one sitting. Kate Tyler's narration is great. Quick, engaging romance with a witchcraft twist.

If you could sum up A Witch's Journey in three words, what would they be?

Romance, Witchcraft, Adventure

What did you like best about this story?

I liked when Pepper traveled. Her trip to Alaska added a great extra characters and helped develop one of the important characters, Lathen.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scenes in Alaska sounded beautiful. The narrator makes the characters distinct so it's easier to follow.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I liked the book, but I thought the sex was thrown in a little quickly and was a little more graphic than I needed.

Any additional comments?

Well read! I like the narrator, Kate. She's got a good voice that's easy to listen to and brings the story to life!

A very long journey

I was supplied with "A Witch's Journey " for free in return of a honest unbiased review . I found this book to be very long , its nearly 10 hours long . I was expecting more 'witchery' & less journey . The romance I found to be slow & the sex seemed to be added , not because it was vital to the story , but because it seems sex has to be added to most romance stories . This audiobook didn't have the excitement that I was expecting . The narrator , Kate Tyler as usual did a excellent narration .

It was okay.

I reviewed a free copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. I was drawn to this one because it was about supernatural-related characters (witches, werewolves, etc.).

On that note, the werewolf side of the story seemed like it was an afterthought. I got that Lathan had issues relating to his military career and bad stuff went on there which, in turn, caused him to feel he was unable to shift into his wolf form. That was understandable. It's just that he never talked to his wolf. That's always been a common aspect of being a werewolf. The characters would always just randomly, mentally talk to their wolves. Lathan didn't do that which seemed strange.

While this was a cute story, I felt like it was missing the drama, conflict, and "OMG" type of moments. We know that the bad guy is after the witch family's magic, at the end he shows up and basically, that situation fizzles out on its own. There was no real confrontation. We know that Kate doesn't like Pepper because Lathan chose Pepper over her, yet Kate never comes face-to-face with her. We know Lathan was stressed about getting back together with his family, yet when he walks through the door, he might as well have just walked over and hugged everyone as though he hadn't been gone for so long. No drama. Everything was wrapped up in a nice little package. Everyone, minus Kate and sometimes Lathan, is always happy. Lathan has his werewolf-related issues, but they're never addressed; he just repeatedly tells Pepper to drop it. I also wasn't a fan of the falling-in-love-so-fast aspect of the story.

I received this story as well as another one (already read it) from the publisher. It wasn't until after I purchased both audiobooks that I realized it was the same narrator who narrated both of the chosen audiobooks. So, again, while she was able to provide a variety of voices for all the characters, it was her random pausing that killed me. It detracts or takes me out of the story because I try to figure out why she would add in pauses between words. Given this was the second story I've listened to her narrate, I've determined when she's reading the name of a place, item, etc., is definitely a time when she'll add in the pauses. Either way, I could see her doing better with more practice, she just has to figure out a way to read the script without actually sounding like she's reading it.

Questions/Comments:

So there was a BDSM club in town? Or somewhere nearby, right? I didn't understand why that was even mentioned in the story.

Why wasn't there a bigger reaction when Lathan told Pepper that he loved her? She didn't really comment either, instead acted like it was something he said all the time to her.

I was surprised that given Kayleigh was Pepper's familiar that she didn't want to go along with Pepper and Lathan when they went to visit his family. Obviously, it would have been hard to bring her alone, but aren't a witch and her familiar like stuck at the hip typically?

There was the rule of no magic in front of mortals. So how did everyone in town know that Pepper and her family were witches?

Speaking of witches, I believe there were several times when someone comments about Pepper being a powerful witch. So why did she never do much magic? She used her powers to move some boxes into the cabin, start the fireplace (many times), and then to keep the salt-water tank (I think it was) working for the baby, injured seal. That was it.

There was a part prior to Pepper and Lathan eating dinner when Pepper (for whatever reason) put a certain amount of ice cubes in the microwave, but there was no explanation as to why.

Something that stood out to me was the fact the author went into detail regarding what the characters ate.

In the end, this was supposed to be a supernatural-related story based on the characters, yet there wasn't much supernatural anything going on.

A Magical Adventure in Lobster Cove!

This was a really enjoyable listen, Pepper a marine biologist works at a wildlife rescue sanctuary in Salem. Unfortunately after using magic to avert a catastrophe Pepper has to leave town. I like the twist where witch has to leave Salem. At the same time her dead aunt’s cabin becomes hers with a large financial legacy. When Pepper arrives in Lobster Cove she meets the builder/handyman who has been tasked with building an Avery to house her bird.
Lathen and Pepper get closer, and she finds out he still suffering from his time in the service, where a few of his colleagues were killed.
I hope this is the first in a series, it was a complete story, and quite complex meeting lots of characters and members of family and the town’s people who mostly welcome Pepper and her Wildlife Marine rescue
This book is told in the third person multiple style which for this tale works really well. If you are looking for a sweet, easy enjoyable story with some fabulous characters, a supernatural suspense running quietly throughout the story, a few smoldering sex scenes, and then this is the book for you. An enjoyable listen, I loved it.
