Sometimes Cupid shows up exactly when—and how—you least expect him in this deliciously witty romance from #1 Amazon and USA Today bestselling author Trilina Pucci.
Years ago, during a college production of Romeo and Juliet, Rory and Oliver shared one unforgettable stage kiss before fate pulled them apart. Now, while drowning her Valentine’s Day sorrows at brunch, she spots him: her former Romeo, wearing nothing but gold shorts and wings, playing Cupid for the lovelorn masses. Their chemistry still sizzles, but even with the stars finally aligning, these former leads will need more than Shakespeare’s guidance to turn their second chance into a true romance.
Trilina Pucci’s A Play for Love is part of The Improbable Meet-Cute: Second Chances, stories for star-crossed lovers and hopeless romantics. They can be read or listened to in one sitting. Let’s do it again.

Narrated in duet by Jesse Vilinsky and Stephen Dexter
I honestly wrote all of my reviews for this series and forgot this one until I was adding them to Goodreads, if that says anything. It starts with Rory being forced by a friend to take a college drama class, and the midterm is to perform a Shakespeare scene. She goes on and on about the losers in her class she’s scared to be paired with. Then the hottest guy on campus walks in, and they perform the kiss scene from Romeo and Juliet together. Fireworks erupt.
Years later, they see each other in NYC just as she is about to move away. He shows her around the city in one big romantic night. The duet narration was the best part of this one. Otherwise, I found the FMC to be shallow and the story to be pretty unmemorable. I didn’t dislike it, it was fine to pass the time, but I forgot about it minutes after listening.

It was a bit silly in the beginning but by the end I was entertained and had a good time.
Super cute novella!

The audiobook is recorded in Duet. The female narrator is new to me. Jesse Vilinsky is now and instant favorite for her great comic timing and warmth. Stephen Dexter, who for some reason I have a hard times taking seriously when he does a broody manly man character is just right for sweet theater boy Oliver.
I am going to check out the rest of the series but had start with this one since Pucci is an auto-buy author for me who absolutely never disappoints in any genre she takes on.
