Bella Matthews
From #1 Amazon and USA Today Bestselling Author Bella Matthews comes a single dad/nanny, grumpy grinch/sunshine, holiday romance.
Falling for my brother’s teammate wasn’t on my Christmas list.
Neither was working for him, but here I am—nannying for Camden Monroe, Philly’s star quarterback, single dad, and the grumpiest grinch to ever fill out a pair of gray sweats.
He should be the last man I want under my mistletoe.
He’s too old. Too cocky. And too damn tempting.
But one snowy night, one reckless touch, and one unforgettable kiss have me rethinking everything I thought I wanted.
Suddenly, the holidays aren’t about twinkle lights and tinsel.
They’re about stolen moments, secret touches, and the kind of Christmas chaos that feels way too good to resist.
Maybe the best gifts don’t come wrapped in pretty bows…
Maybe they come with dirty grins, filthy mouths, and the power to make me forget every single reason why Camden doesn’t belong at the top of my wish list. . .
‘Tis the season.

The narrators in this book always do such an amazing job. Erin Mallon and Connor Crais do such fantastic jobs. You can feel the emotions they act out while reading. I've never listened to a bad story with these 2 in it. This is a duet style audiobook, so you get him reading Camden's lines during Holly's POV & visa versa.
I will be honest on my opinion here and say that this book did not meet up to my expectations. I've been wanting Camden's book since we met him in his sister's book, Teasing. I see the good ratings on this book and I just don't see how. I didn't even get the arc this time around like I do on all of her books and bought it on Kindle. It had a lot of misspelled words and needed to go through edit again.
Certain things didn't make sense during their conversations and I felt like there were a lot of missed opportunities in this book when it came to Camden's past and with his baby momma.
I know as a bonus in the back of the ebook we got a glimpse into his baby momma, and what a pos she was, but she was never brought up in throughout the main book. I mean did Holly not want to know if she were going to be showing up or anything? Bella has written quite a few single parent books that she didn't leave this out of, and it shouldn't have been left out of this book. Especially since the woman trapped Camden to get money out of him by selling his baby...wtf. That definitely needed is own moment in this book. Plus, it was a missed opportunity in the audiobook that should have been part of it.
Holly also kept referring to Camden as the grinch because he was broody and a grump. I didn't see him being that grumpy in this book. Maybe overprotective or shy or just a quiet person, but not grinch like. Just because he didn't decorate his home for Christmas didn't make him a grinch. He even said he didn't hate Christmas multiple times throughout.
I feel like there wasn't enough build up for these 2 characters. There was the beginning before they actually knew each other, then Holly getting the job and the flirtation stopped. Yes, there was an attraction to each other that they fought, but there was no flirting with one another after the pharmacy until the FaceTime call while she was in the tub.
I also feel like if the author would have wrote in the moment these characters needed to bond, then maybe Holly would have seen why Camden was so guarded and quiet. Yes, in Teasing we got Emmie's pov on her past but this is her brothers book and he needed to have his moment with the past. He was the one that raised his sisters, lost 1 of them, had a struggling relationship with the other and had a bad relationship with his dementia father. Apparently a lot has happened in a year since Teasing including the loss of his father.
Camden kept saying throughout he wasn't the right guy for Holly because of his past struggles, past relationships and his past in general. He thought badly of himself and I feel that if Holly knew all of the above she might have knew him better and his behaviors besides just calling him a grinch.
If you do get a chance then go get the ebook to read the extended bonus about Sophie's bio mom and what she did. Also, download the extended bonus that is told in Madden's POV. Yes, you read that right, the dog has his own POV and it is so hilarious and heartwarming.

What better way to spend Christmas, than in Kroydon Hills! As with everything Bella writes, I devoured this story! Camden & Holly are absolutely adorable. While Camden is the grumpy, hot Grinch, Holly is everything Christmas. She’s sweet, happy, and full of spirit- everything Camden and Sophia need.
These two had me from the very beginning. I loved seeing Camden’s fun relaxed side and how easily it came out with Holly around. 💚♥️

Erin Mallon and Connor Crais are perfectly cast for this quickie. Mallon is the bubbly, over the top, wonderful nanny bringing all the joy to his home. Crais is the broody grump and phenomenal father with a warmth in his tone that is lovable. This is the kind of listen I love and keeps me coming back for more.
