Wow! Twists and turns so unexpected. A great read worthy of a book group and/or alone but get ready for a ride!

Heartbreaking and beautifully written

I could not stop listening to this book. I loved how the story was told from each characters point of view. A friends daughter went through an abusive marriage and by the grace of god she was able to get out with her daughter after a horrifying night. I could not stop thinking about her as I listened to this story. It just makes you wonder how many women are in similar situations. Please read or listen to this book

Great story

Heartbreaking story, but beautiful. I enjoyed it. It made me angry at times, but all domestic abuse cases do. I wanted to slap Ivy so badly!

OMG!! What a heartbreaking, yet excellent book!

This book took me through a whole range of emotions -- it gave me chills; it exasperated me as I listened, cursing Olivia to the heavens; it made me want to laugh and cry. I couldn't stop listening. And when I got to the absolute "O M G!!! NOOOOOO!!!" portion (which I won't let on because it's the crux of the book), I had to go back and re-listen to some parts to make it all fit in. This woman's confession made me hate and love Olivia; however, I hated her mother (and father)-in-law with a passion ... this could be anyone's true story! I discussed this book with my co-workers, trying to gauge why people do the things they do to each other in the name of "love"

Heatbreaking

So many tears at the end as I look at my daughter. Beautifully written with great narration.

This book touched my heart in a very personal way as when I was in high school I was in an abusive relationship that reminded me very much of what olivia went through, but I am very thankful I was able to get out before it was too late. Unfortunately for Olivia, she paid a price much too high. Her husband killed himself along with her daughter.

Olivia is not able to cope and for a large portion of the book she is in denial that her child has passed away, so she is carrying a bear around thinking it is her child even going as far as searching out daycares for her baby so she is able to return to work.

There is one twist that I won't tell you about, but it's a good one!

Wonderful story

This book was fantastic. Such a good story and the ending was quite a surprise. I listen as I drive to work and needless to say I had some puffy read eyes when I arrived today.

Amazing ending. Reality at its finest

Nothing, not one thing . 15 word minimum is lost here. I am in love with this book, and every mother needs to hear it.

Riveting throughout

I absolutely loved this story. It kept me engaged the entire story. I’ll be vague so as not to give anything away. I try to pay close attention to details. There were some clues throughout the book that gave me pause so I wasn’t terribly surprised at the big reveal. But it was a great story and totally relatable. It was so well-written that I was hating a certain character and had to remind myself it’s only a book.

Not what I was expecting!!!

Excellent plot twist that I took me completely by surprise. I enjoyed the book but turn up sound, dialog is easy to miss.
