Just ok

Drags on too long. Narrator uses a whisper voice for basically all the characters, which is annoying. I stuck it out, but this was definitely not my favorite.

It only gets better

I absolutely love this series and I love Alex Wyndham's performance! I've never been disappointed in a book by Mimi Matthews!

The adventure of a lifetime

This amazing book seems like an adventure to fine a missing someone, but in actuality it was a journey to discover the truth on one's heart and stepping out into the unknown to get it. What a excellent audio adventure. I highly suggest and recommend

Pretty Good!

A journey from England to India taken by Jenny to see if she can find her lost distant cousin. Tom being the person he is organises to go with her. They pretend to be brother and sister. What a trip to take in 1860. Jenny wants to have adventure and experiences way outside the usual for women of that time. She does not want to be hemmed in by marriage or a man. This is because she had a bad family experience. But just maybe Tom might have a chance. 3.25 stars.
I really don't like the narrator, he has this whisper voice for most of his characters.

Narration a disappointment

I really enjoyed the first book of the series, but the breathy narration of this 2nd book was a disappointment.

Top author

Every now and then you get an author that no matter what you read or listen to, this author always puts out excellent work.
I list this this author in this category, I would read/listen to any of her story. She is an excellent story teller with excellent ability for the written word.
As for performance of this story, the narrator is also in the top category of talent.

Thoroughly LOVED This Story!!!

This story was so perfect for me. I loved the strong individuality and desire for independence by the lead lady!!! I loved that the whole story wasn’t a build up to them kissing or realizing they loved each other. There was sweet romance throughout with a a cool plot besides!! I loved that the couple was honest with each other and actually communicated their feelings. And the lead man, what a gem of a character!!! I also loved that we got to interact with the characters from the first story, rather than just have their names be mentioned. And Alex Wyndham once again, made this story for me! I’ve read quite a few 1800’s themed romances, but for me personally in my life right now, this is my favorite book!!! Thank you for creating this!!

Such a Passionate Love Story!

Such a passionate love story. From England to India, Tom Finchley is such a dear. Protective, capable and loyal, yes, but also amorous, doting, and sweetly soft-hearted.

This is the story of two people set on very different futures, developed by the experiences of their past. They suffer the overwhelming “pangs of longing” for one another in an emotional story so well written the reader feels their anguish. Grasping for any private time together (yes, some propriety goes out the window), there are some rather spicy kissing scenes. However, Tom is a gentleman and doesn’t cross the line, thus, this novel maintains the chaste but passionate Mimi Matthews writing style that I have come to trust. And I thank her for that.

This book can be read as a standalone, but you really don’t want to miss what happened in book 1!

The audiobook by Alex Wyndham is exceptional. He is one male narrator that performs believable female voices.
