A really sweet story. I just wish it was longer. it was over so quickly.

Fun Easy Listen

The narrator, I think Justine Eyre is an excellent narrator. She does a good job with male and female characters especially the prim and proper. There are books I will give a chance because Justine Eyre reads them. I gave her 4 stars because this story could not provide what is needed for a 5 star read.
The story, I gave 2 stars. So I consider 5 stars to be Tolkien, C.S.Lewis, Agatha Christie and a few others.
I appreciate that there was no bodice ripping or unnecessary sex scenes. This story was good for what it was, a historical romance I could listen to while doing other things. It was not overly intense and the heroine was portrayed well. She fit the time but demonstrated her intelligence and strength while remaining basically correct for the era.
I recommend it for a fun quick listen.

Class differences impact happiness . When a rich man finds a penniless woman things get complicated, especially when neither one is honest in their declarations.

Love Justine Eyre’s narration.
Liked all the characters except Felicity(?) She needed a good whack on her posterior. Also like when there’s an epilogue. Recommend to young adults and up.

Another fun Mimi Matthews book

Once more Matthews has written a compelling novel that takes us away from our 21st century lives and transports is to another time and place. Fairly predictable plot, but the road to resolving romance is fun. Great narration!

Again the author pens a clear story line that doesn’t devolve into ridiculous twists and turns. A very good listen!

Has more crude talk than her other books

Mimi writes a great story but this one was a little more dirty than the others I have listened to.

An easy read

A good non stressful read. All issues are quickly resolved and the story is nice. Its a good break from the intense edge of your seat books

Same Tired Ending Plot “Twist”

Overall a good book. What ruined it for me was the author’s use of that tired old standby of her/him being too noble to marry because doing so will ruin a life or (even more tiresome) cause the loved one to hate him/her eventually. Really? Again? Surely there’s something other than that to cause some drama? The only twisted drama that’s worse for me is a book filled with the H/h’s relative hating and planning to destroy all the love and happiness in the world. I can’t roll my eyes hard enough.
