awful heroine

The heroine made me speed this book up to the point where they all sounded like chipmunks just to get the story over with. Toby deserved far better than this obnoxious woman.

Great story to sum up this series. I was hoping for more on Jos & Hetta.

Love it

For me it was the best if the series! I’m about to start the set again. Wish there was a separate book about Hetta and Josh.

So sweet and sexy

I thoroughly enjoyed the characters’ journey toward each other, and all that they discovered about themselves. The heroine had such real, human vulnerability and inner turmoil that seems frustrating to read at the beginning, but makes SO much sense as the book progresses. I LOVED watching Isabella’s story unfold. It was heartbreaking and beautiful and emotionally layered to perfection.

Really struggling to like this.

So far I’m five and a half chapters in, will update if it gets better but so far it’s really bad.

Belle is extremely unlikable! Toby is such a sweet character but there is no way he would ever stay with her. The story is just ridiculous and unbelievable. And the way her brother despises him is so over the top, and for no reason! Poor Toby was perfectly lovely fiancé to Grays wife before she filter and ran away.

Ugh. I’ll update if improves.

Suspenseful good story

I liked the greater originality to this story compared to most regency romances. I wish the sexual encounters were not so explicit. I am more interested in romance than the sex.

Tessa’s best series

I’m a big fan of Tessa Dare. This series is perhaps her best… and, Toby and Sophia’s story is just adorable.
Each other three novels are hard to put down, and engaging all the way through

I enjoyed their journey. The main characters seemed very 2-dimensional, but they found themselves in the end. I'd read this again!

I love Tessa Dare.

I first listened to book 2, Danielle in my opinion is a very good reader, I love her swagger voices and the accent she can do. IMO she brings the Dare books to life. I've read others remark on her lisp, yes she has one but I think that makes her real and original. Great story, good tension between characters, funny and steamy ❤️🙏

Heroine ruined this book

Didn’t finish because of the heroine. She was just too much of a downer. Nothing was suitable for her.
