Publisher's summary

The narrative of this guided meditation for anger teaches listeners how to better respond to debilitating anger and blame by listening repeatedly to simple images and metaphors, such as envisioning the loosening of tight cords that have been wrapped around the heart, constricting its natural energy and flow. So often, when thinking about the source of our anger, we wind up right back in the same old mire of helpless anger and resentment—if anything, more distressed and upset than before. The wisdom of this guided meditation for anger is that it sidesteps those mind traps by working directly with body sensation and symbolic images. Over time, it actually works.

Used by corporate executives and incarcerated prisoners, harried moms and stressed out teens, this forgiveness meditation will get the job done on controlling anger in surprisingly short order. Here's the track list:

  1. Introduction (2:49)
  2. Guided Imagery (19:02)
  3. Affirmations (21:51)

Written and narrated by guided imagery and holistic health expert Belleruth Naparstek and scored to the exquisitely soothing music of Steven Mark Kohn, this Health Journeys™ audio resource was produced by the Cleveland Orchestra's Bruce Gigax. Repeated listening once or twice a day for 2-3 weeks ensures maximum impact. The net effect of continued listening is a stronger ability to manage and release anger, a greater sense of safety and support, and a new ease and inner peace gracing each day. Listen to a sample, read some reviews and see why this guided imagery for anger is so frequently recommended by counselors, family therapists and life coaches nationwide. (60 min.)

Very meaningful and helpful

I have used this guided meditation dozens of times when I am dealing with difficult situations to help calm myself and move past hurts and resentment. I recommend this to everyone who wants to welcome forgiveness in their life. The more you listen, the deeper the truths can take root within you.

unlistenable

There is nothing relaxing or helpful here; in fact it will make you more angry. The imagery section is so fraught with "you might be here, or you might be here or here or here ...maybe you hear this...or that, maybe you feel grass, or sand, or pine needles, or wind!" There is so much jumping around every 10 seconds you can't imagine that you are anywhere and can't relax at all. It's ridiculous, and Audible won't let me return it even though I would rather vomit than listen to any more of this clearly unprofessional product.

Monotonous.

Belleruth Naparstek doesn't tell stories - she plods through them. Her tone of voice never wavers from a bland, mid-range drone as she delivers a meditation. Perhaps some find this style of delivery to be soothing; I did not.
