Swooning hard.....

Wow! Well I tell you what..... this man had me swooning.... even when he was trying to be a jerk! As he is trying to keep his emotional distance from her.... he is totally showing all his feelings that he claims to not be able to have! For a guy who had such a toxic relationship with his own dad, he sure did take to the idea of fatherhood, despite him only being 21, like it was the most natural thing in the world for him to do. And the strength that Callie showed in dealing with him and his issues had me in awe of her. And as usual Saffron had me feeling all the feels and not wanting the story to end. But I am loving this series and I can not WAIT to hear more from the St Mary's ladies..... or Callie's brothers! MAN! Those guys are something else all together! I am totally looking forward to meeting the ladies that capture their overprotective attentions now that they can ease up on Callie!

A Gorgeous Villain

This is the second book in the St. Mary's Rebels series. Wow! I have no words. I didn't know how much I needed to listen to this book. This is definitely going be moved into the top books of this year and stay permanently. Callie (Fae) and Reed (Roman) story started in The Wild Mustang and the Dancing Fairy. This was a brand-new author to me. These characters grabbed a hold of me and did not let go. I was completely enamored with this story. I will definitely be checking out more books from Saffron A Kent. Even though these books are part of a series you can enjoy them separately. Stefanie Kay and Gideon Frost were both absolutely phenomenal narrating this book!

4.5 Stars - Tinges of A Modern Romeo and Juliet

The prequel The Wild Mustang and The Dancing Fairy, set the reader up for the opening, unexpected scene. Set 2 years after the conclusion of the prequel the reader is introduced to Reed and Callie who have been separated but run into each other once again.
A story of a young girl, Callie, who recognizes her feelings for her ‘Romeo’, hated by her brothers, but realizes there is no future for them… she tries to distance herself but becomes impossible… because of Reed’s actions.
This book gives insight into Reed, unlike the prequel, and he can’t or doesn’t allow himself, to recognize his feelings for Callie. Slowly the background on how and why each MC feels and why their past and subsequent future evolves.
Loved how the story resolved and well worth the journey, and only lacked a 1/2 star due to my desire to see the conclusion.
Great narration and also this audiobook contained both the prequel and the first book.
Looking forward to more of the secondary characters stories

An Angsty Heartaching Slow Burn

Callie was once young naive and believed herself to be in love with the gorgeous villain of her school. The soccer star with the white mustang and the bitter rivalry with her brother. She was his fae, his ballerina and she would dance just for him. But when push came to shove he valued winning over her and broke her heart. So in return she drove his prized mustang, the only thing he ever loved, into the lake. This landed her at St Mary’s Reform School for Troubled Girls while Reed Jackson was seemingly off on his villainous ways breaking more hearts and soccer records in college.

But one night two years later, on a mental health break to the local bar with her girls, she sees her gorgeous villain again and all those pieces of her shattered heart still beat for him. He’s made it perfectly clear he still has no feelings for her, no plans to fall in love and have some happily ever after. But Callie’s heart is still a silly little thing and when she ends up pregnant now she’s knows she’s really and truly ruined this time.

After having my heart decimated in the prequel novella I was aching to have my heart put back together but this is a long one and Reed is exceptionally stubborn. This one is going to hurt your heart many many times before it’s ever put back together. Reed is very lucky that Callie is a better woman than me because I wouldn’t have put up with 1/10th of his constant denials like she did. It’s clear to anyone how he really feels except for him.

In the end I was so happy for these two. All the pain and heartache was completely worth it but man is it a tough journey to get there. I thought the narrators did a fantastic job bringing this story to life and despite its length I found myself invested in it throughout. While surprise pregnancy isn’t my jam I still thought this was a fantastic listen and as long as you’re here for the slow burn I think it’s worth the listen.

An angsty emotional read

I really enjoyed Callie and reeds story, Both characters are so different from each other but I think they fit just right. They carry strong emotions within them that makes their moments interesting to read about. I love saffrons writing style and world building. Her books always keep me wanting more. I did the audiobook and the narrators really brought these characters to life and made it a whole different experience
