Poe the Pocket Sized Dragon

I honestly think Poe is my favorite of the girls in this series. She is truly a pocket sized dragon. This is a great kind of finale for the original St Mary's Rebels girl club as they all come together at the end of this book. This is a VERY slow burn romance- to the point that you wonder if Alaric is ever going to cross the line. Once she is of age and he commits to being with her, he REALLY commits. Poe is a trip. I absolutely love her sass, and the showdown between her and Cynthia later in the book is one of my favorite parts. She is not a timid, back down to anyone kind of person. I really enjoyed this entire series. I feel there is more story line to come with other side characters getting their own books, but this book was the last of the original girls who became friends in the first book of the series. They are quite a spicy couple once they get going. The wit and banter back and forth between Poe and Alaric is quite entertaining. I will be looking into other books from this writer. Her characters are very well written and developed.

Emotional

Poe lost her mom and her guardian is Mr Marshall senior but he not capable to take care of anyone so Alaric his son become guardian of a teenager and he send her to a school and years late he is the new principal of St Mary. Alaric is jaded and he was bully and humiliated by Poe mother and he was also mistreated by his father. Poe has been neglected by her mom and mistreated she has never felt love only by the group of girl that she meet in her school and when she about to graduated she is held back by her guardian. Alaric and Poe grow closer to each other which is very inappropriate. Poe want to design clothes and she has hidden her talent from others. When Poe try to blackmail Alaric by trying to seduce him and she planted a camera, Alaric catches her so what does Poe does she takes provocative pictures and send it to Alaric. Both of them find out how there childhood were the same just tragic. Poe had a childhood crush on a boy Jimmy who come back into her life but he kidnapped her for money. Alaric rescue her. New character and past character appear and mention. The spiced is really hot. The narrator were so good they were just perfect for this characters. |

An Epic Angsty Forbidden Romance!

Ever since Poe came to live with Alaric Marshall after the loss of her mother their relationship has been strained at best. After Poe acts out one too many times, he sends her to an all girls reform school and disappears on scholarly research for 3 years.

Now he’s back just in time to hold up her graduation and ruin her life again. But with him being back, things have shifted between them and the tension has changed into something different and entirely unfathomable especially given he’s her guardian and principal.

I have been salivating for this book while listening to each prior book in the series knowing Poe’s story was coming. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes but throw in the forbidden guardian ward element and I am here for it. What I wasn’t prepared for was Alaric’s backstory being so utterly heartbreaking. While Poe could relate with her own trauma, his was next level and had me wanting to wrap them both in a warm hug.

One thing this epic love story was not is brief. This listen is a long one even for Saffron but there was enough tension, angst and build up to keep me fully invested the entire time. The majority of the book was narrated by Poe with sporadic chapters from Alaric. I liked that his POV was more of a mystery especially in the beginning when we are trying to sus out his motivations. I also thought that Ri Page really brought our damaged little rebel girl to life to perfection.

If you love found family, forbidden, angsty, slow burn, enemies to lovers goodness and you don’t mind the time commitment then I think you’ll enjoy this listen as much as I did. I would definitely recommend upping the narration speed though.

Hey, Mister Marshall is the fourth book in the St. Mary Rebels series. This book is about Alaric and Poe and is told from both of their points of view.

This book starts off when Poe is 14th. After her mother's death, Alaric becomes her guardian. He ships her off to a boarding school. Now at 18, they are back in each others lives.

Alaric is possessive and I loved every minute of it. I loved the banter between Alaric and Poe. There were some twists, and I enjoyed seeing how these two grew. Will they get their happy ending? I can't wait to continue on in this series!

Hey Mister Marshall is book #4 in the St Mary's Rebels series. Its a slow burn, guardian/ward, forbidden romance.

Poe and Alarics story is a hell of a ride!!! You can tell these two are meant to be together!

Poes mother died and she was to live with the Marshall's. She hates living there and is eventually sent to St Mary's. But, Mr Marshall is the new principal and him and Poe don't get along at all.

Poe and Alaric have an amazing connection, even though it started as hate 😂 Poe has the biggest heart and I wish she was my friend!! I loved getting inside Alarics head, and he is now one of my favorite book boyfriends.

And that epilogue!!!!! Ugh. It made my heart so freaking happy!!!

You guys NEED to read this book!
