Publisher's summary

Christmas comes to Zinnia, Mississippi - Sarah Booth Delaney must solve a case as the holiday approaches, in this new cozy mystery from Carolyn Haines.

Christmas is just around the corner, and Sarah Booth and Tinkie are preparing for a festive holiday season. After a turbulent season of solving cases, they're ready for some holiday cheer. Sarah Booth and Sheriff Coleman Peters have finally gotten together, and this is the first holiday they're celebrating as a couple. Sarah Booth busies herself with decking the halls and daydreaming about romantic Christmas nights with Coleman.

Then her friend Cece Dee Falcon shows up needing Sarah Booth's help - right now. She shows Sarah Booth a box that was delivered by courier and left at Cece's front porch. It contains a lock of hair, a photograph of a pretty young woman, very pregnant, and a note demanding ransom for the return of the teen. Cece reveals that this is her cousin's daughter, Eve Falcon, and that she'd lost touch with this part of her family years ago. Eve and Cece had been close, until the family had a terrible falling out, and banished Cece from their lives.

The countdown begins as the kidnapper pushes for payment - or else, he threatens, Eve will meet her maker. It's up to Sarah Booth and her friends to find the girl before something terrible happens on what should be the merriest day of the year.

Carolyn Haines's trademark humor and lovable characters are back, in a heartwarming Christmas story that will enchant and delight listeners looking for a suspenseful mystery wrapped in joyful holiday merriment.

A breath of fresh air.

I loved the banter between the main characters. So nice to hear the slang from yesteryear.

Another Great Sarah Booth Mystery

I just love the Sarah Booth Delaney mysteries and this one doesn’t disappoint. Great story that had me guessing until the end. My only issue was there were obvious pauses in the narration from time to time, so not as smooth as it normally is. Kate Forbes did a great kob overall, as usual.

Too many political buzzwords

I love the stories. But this one had so many political buzzwords that I had to turn it off. I listen to my favorite genre of books to get away from the constant back and forth fighting and bias news in our nation. It's too bad because these stories are enjoyable without all of the
current buzzwords.

Great Sarah Booth Delaney Christmas Mystery

Sarah Booth and Tinkie help Cici track down her kidnapped niece who is due to give birth on Christmas Eve. Even Jitty's appearances are in the holiday spirit.

I always regret when these books end.

I could listen to the stories all day every day... Can't wait for the next one.

Great...... (please note dripping sarcasm)....

Ok. Maybe that's too harsh. I am soooooooo disappointed. What about Tinkie's baby? Isn't Christmas the Perfect time to propose? Why Ireland? Did Coleman like the boots? Pluto, Chablis, and Sweetie were NOT in the middle of the action as they usually are. This one was alright but missing the usual kick. Also too predictable. Not enough Surprises. Not as Happy as I usually am with this series. Expected More. Also Jitty was not "there" as much. Her colorful commentary was missing more than it was present. I missed her. What about Madame Tomeaka's response to Eve and the situation? Sorry to be vague. I don't want to give it away if you have not read it. Just 1 more thing. Or so. Did J.T. make it back to CeeCee? Was CeeCee at the hospital with Mitch and Daria? Did Alfie survive? Too many loose ends. 😥

I am glad Sarah Booth got to see her parents though. I am also glad the series continues. 😉
