Publisher's Summary

The Empire is splitting at the seams. The Great Houses refuse to obey the Throne World and have begun to conduct increasingly independent politics. Sensing the weakness of the central government, even the most loyal star systems of the Imperial Core are refusing to take orders from above.

Is this just a string of coincidences, or a coordinated campaign? Can a disjointed humanity rally around a strong leader to deflect an alien invasion? Who of the many figures in intergalactic politics can rise to this challenge? And is there a basis to the creeping rumors that some influential aristocrats have joined forces with the enemy and allied with the aliens?

Great book I'm sorry to see the end of the series

this book was absolutely fantastic. the unique twists and turns that it goes throughout the series is just cumulated here and the ending actually leaves you satisfied. While I wish there was more books in the series the author found a good ending point and stuck to it. Very solid but I'm certainly not going to complain if he decides to write more.

excellent book with nice plot twist

Book is an excellent conclusion to this series. the twist in the plot at the end creates a clamour for a sequal.

wish i could give the story more stars 10/10

what a twist! very well done on the ending i have taken over 2 years to read all the books up till this point. I'd call it a love hate relationship. love the story hate some of the people the MC needs to deal with.

oh man is this it is this the end

shit man I've been waiting on this book for a minute and now it looks like a sequel will be a long time coming. I can't even imagine what she will be like in the coming books of the series given the way things ended in this one

A good end, not a great end, but definitly not bad

When I saw that Perimeter defense was getting its 4th and final book I was ridiculously excited. Questions were going to be answered, Yorg was going to kick some ass and pity the poor soul who got in his way. I downloaded the book and proceeded to binge the entire thing like there was no tomorrow.....then I ran out of book, and I don't know how I feel about that. The book started off with a massive infodump, so if not only for the amazing first three books that alone I think is a reason to avoid this book first. After the initial starting info hump the book dose hit its stride and for the middle right up to the end the book is firing on all cylinders going full tilt. God that is where this book excels and Michael Atamanovs skill shines. As the book comes closer and closer to its ending it stumbles a bit though. The reveals and twists feel a bit clumsy and the final scene just felt...off? I don't know how to put it otherwise and it could just be me but it just felt at odds with the rest of the book. I love Perimeter Defense, and to be completely honest I probably couldn't have done better, but the ending just left me wanting something more, or of a different flavor. Like the tagline above said, its not a bad end, it is in fact a good end.......it just wasn't the great end that I was hoping for.

Devastatingly exciting

Absolute adventure, devastatingly exciting. I’m not exactly sure why this book continues to get four stars. I would give it six. Plot lines were tight and concise, The motivations and actions of characters were well rounded, not excessive, and believable. There was a reason for everything. Brilliant backstabbings, turn of events, and swings of loyalty. With good character storyline logic to back up every action. There is also a variety of actions, to keep every type of reader engaged. Political motivations, space battles, Family, love, Lust, manipulation, and of course conquering the Galaxy! two minor points that I dislike. 1) although it did not distract from the story, he paid very little attention to real world limits, and as such anything the main character tried had an extremely high chance of working instantly. Never having a downturn of luck. Even if real world situations would suggest it. 2) The ending felt very rushed, and almost like an evil genius sitting there monologueing to the audience so they will understand plot points he is board of revealing Slowly.

Wow that epilogue

Honestly this series is fantastic and I was pretty hesitant about buying the first one. And here I am just finished the fourth book and am both stunned by the epilogue and greedily awaiting the fifth

Enjoyable

Marathoned through this thing. Could barely stop listening. Very good read and would definitely repeat. I wonder if there's more coming up as the story does end, reveal some secrets about the world and then leaves a small potential for more.

good story, disappointing ending

recommend this series. has serious flaws likeost gamelit, however most can be overlooked. I really enjoyed this series, but the ending was disappointing. Interesting and somewhat confusing, but ultimately disappointing.

Moo review

Omg that twist. So you kinda get what's going on and then the author decides to take a dump on your brain and blows you. This is a definite read and I hope there's another one coming
