wrong and dumb in so many ways....

He's on revenge mode because of some comments that happened years ago. He will resort to killing. Wow! Talk about a mountain out of a molehill. His over-reactive behavior is repulsive. He could have had her in a 100 different ways. Like... ask her out for a date... duh!! After all, she liked him too. Kidnapping, imprisoning and marring is the best he could do???

He captures her with the threat to kill her father. She has to comply to his sexual demands. So much for romance.

Father sells his daughter. Brother is okay with this. So much for family love.

She can escape but is wishy washy. Oh, I wanted to slap this woman! If only I could.
Her internal dialog is that of a bimbo. This is the worst part of the book.

This is a duet narration. A bit different from what I'm used to. Regardless, the narration is done well.

Sure it ends with a cliffhanger. I'll pass on the next book. I think I'm okay with that because these two aren't going to get any smarter.

Loved this book

Loved Easton & Charlotte. Danger, twisted, action, dark, disturbing, steamy, sexy and so good. I didn’t want to stop listening to this book because it was just that amazing. Be aware there is a cliffhanger.
Once again Kai & Wen knocked it out of the park with their amazing narration of this book.

What did I just read/listen to?

What attracted me to the book is the girl on the cover with her purple hair which is actually pink in the book. The whole story, however, doesn't make sense. Easton creeped me out BIG TIME... I couldn't help but imagine him as Julia Roberts husband in Sleeping with the Enemy with the whole "princess" shit. Charlotte, on the other hand, doesn't feel 28, she feels like she's 18. I was truly expecting her to shoot him by the end.

Charlotte is the daughter of a rich hotelier, he hires a chef who had an only son named Easton, Easton falls for Charlotte the moment he sees her at her father's latest wedding. She is attracted to him too but her father has a no dating rule, he is saving her virginity to the highest bidder, as a last resort chip. Easton grows up and becomes mean, rich and someone without any moral compass, he was into making cocktails and is the owner of many bars around the world. He waits for Charlotte's father to fall, because to him her father worked his father to death (eyes rolling) so when the opportunity arrives, he BUYS Charlotte from her father so he cleans his debts and saves his own life... BUYS HER! I mean WTF?!?! He wants her so badly and has been spying on her in her own apartment for years (the creep) and now he marries her because she is "his property" and "his princess" and he's going to teach her to "obey him" and that will destroy her stupid father... as if!

I mean, I just don't know what I read.

Interesting ......

It's an interesting plot. Forced marriage without any mafia themes.

They liked each other as kids but he wasnt good enough for her dad. But now he paid her father's debt for her hand in n marriage and her dad had no problem with it.

Her life as she knew it was over. Easton's dad died because of her dad and he wants to ruin her dad through her love for him .......but it ends in a cliffhanger before that can happen.

Cliffhanger

Great original story, edge of your seat action, weird bizarre cult type romance or not. The narrators did an amazing job !

The first thing I have to say about A Debt Owed is that I finally got what I always wanted. The narrators switching off back and forth in the chapters! I have wanted a book to do that for so long that it makes the book seamless!

Kai and Wen are flawless in A Debt Owed. I read the book when it first came out and I don't ever have a voice in my head when I read books but these two do it great. Kai brings Charlotte to life with the innocence you expect when Easton (Wen) comes back into her life after years. But when Charlotte needs to fight and regain the strength to fight off Easton's plan Kai brings that out when needed.

I couldn't stop listening to this audio and was happy to hear it.

Wow!!!

Wow!!! What a dark twisted book. Easton has worked his way up in life to be where he is at today. Charlotte's dad owes a debt to Easton & they decide that Charlotte will be the way to pay the debt back. Charlotte's whole world is about to change with Easton. This is definitely an enemies to lovers book. I can't wait to see where the next book takes them. Clarissa Wild writes a very good & unique story that hooked me from the start. Now add Kai Kennicott & Wen Ross for narration & now you have an smoking hot audiobook. They bring the book to life. You can chemistry that is portrayed throughout the story. I can't wait to listen to the next book. Loved it!

Fantastic Book!

This book has all the elements I enjoy in a dark romance; the struggle for submission, angst, strong heroine and plenty of steamy scenes.

The narrators kept me interested. Their performances were outstanding. I enjoyed the male narrator speaking as Easton and the female aa Charlotte.

This book ends in a cliffhanger. i look forward to listening to the next book to find out what happens with Easton and Charlotte. Will she ever accept him as her husband.
