Story
For years, while Iran and North Korea kept Western diplomats busy, China and Russia have been quietly seeding the US with spies and soldiers. Now, a silent army of occupation lurks inside US borders, and for America, it is already too late. When the assault begins—via an EMP strike that disables the US electrical grid and neutralizes her defenses all in one fell swoop—the US is caught completely unprepared. The nation is lost, and it is up to ordinary citizens to defend their cities, towns, neighborhoods, or even just their families.

Hank Spears is content with his life as a scrapper until he unearths an artificial intelligence who warns him of a grave threat to all life in the universe. Since AI has long been outlawed and anyone caught harboring one is imprisoned or executed, the two must go on the run, fleeing into the far reaches of space. They must avoid capture, all for the sake of those who would imprison them. Story
The Troubles. A quaint name for a horrific period in the galaxy's history. A period whose atrocities were superseded only by the terror of the Savage Wars that had come before. Almost no corner of the galaxy was spared a taste of terrible war, cutthroat intrigue… and remorseless death. In the aftermath, this battered galaxy now longs for peace and stability. The Republic, now reformed, seeks to govern by the rule of law. But no matter how sincere the reform, how earnest and well-meaning the ruler, some worlds refuse to place their destiny in the hands of others. Ever again.

Story
Almost five years ago, America—as everyone knew it—came to an abrupt end in a spectacular coup d'état. It was called the Liberation by those progressives and radicals that screamed for its outcome; the Fall by its victims whose freedoms were trampled. The White House and the Capitol were overrun by anarchists, and the leaders of the once-proud nation were either imprisoned or sent to social quarantine camps. The president was arrested and eventually died in prison, or so everyone was led to believe. America was rebooted in a new progressive/socialist image, Newmerica.

Publisher's summary
'Twas the night before Christmas...
After a Christmas Eve EMP attack blinds America and Europe, triggering a meticulously planned attack on the West's civilian populations, only a ragtag team of neighbors stands in the way of a new Axis invasion.
Nuclear attacks wipe out city centers. Russian warships infest the Atlantic. Chinese tanks roll out of Baltimore's ports with their sights set on Mount Weather—the bunker protecting the acting US President and what's left of the tattered military command. Lieutenant Commander Joey Washington has information about the attack that might turn the tide of battle, but can she deliver it to the underground stronghold before the tanks come crashing in?
It seems every devil is descending on America to dance on her grave. She's going to need a few devils of her own to survive.
The sequel is real!

Eamon Tauk was literally born into the Space Corps. They spent two decades forging him into a Marine. Training him to be a killer. Twisting him into a fanatic. Then they assigned him to protect Dr. Jella Duverii, a mildly subversive alien zoologist who could very well undo all the work they put into him. When the young cadet and his charge crash land on Kanaris with the survivors of their Recon battalion, they find themselves leagues away from their objective, marooned in an environment so hostile even the trees seem hellbent on killing them.

A FIVE STAR sequel to Mongol Moon
The continued character development and lines of individual stories that Mark brings together had me hooked early in this excellent sequel. There were several spots were I laughed out loud and others when I cheered the characters on. Terry did an stellar job bringing the Dance of Devils to life.

Great action shrouded in glorious in jokes
While the uninitiated will be able to enjoy this book like any Clancy novel, with its fun action and capable performance by Terry Schappert, another layer of delight awaits those who follow Sibley on Twitter and are aware of which friends precisely, he is writing into which roles in his stories and what jokes he’s referencing.
Terry, meanwhile, reads less like a man reading a book to you, and more like a man recalling a story, with pacing and mannerisms you would expect in conversation rather than a teleprompter speech. All in all I was thoroughly delighted.
When threequel, Sibley?

Book two is a blast!
This is a smoking good follow up to Mongol Moon. I'm gonna make an Adderall 'get sh*t done' playlist of my own using the songs from Alice's soundtrack... Trailer Swift and all. This storyline is one of those books that I want to stop listening to when I notice there's only a couple hours left. Stop because I know I'll want more immediately when this book finishes and I know I'll have to wait for the author to drop the next volume. Soup to nuts. great story and performance.
