Written with the clarity and grit demanded by today’s preparedness-minded readers, this book explores the tactics, gear, and lived experiences of Rhodesian security forces and civilians alike. It examines how farmers defended themselves, how the military adapted to asymmetric counterinsurgency warfare, and how a small country held out for over a decade against overwhelming political and numerical odds before being undone not by defeat in the field, but by international betrayal and internal exhaustion.
Whether you’re a survivalist looking for lessons in real-world collapse to prepare for SHTF, a student of irregular/guerilla warfare, or simply curious about one of the most misunderstood conflicts of the 20th century, this book will challenge your assumptions and deepen your understanding. The fight may have been lost, but the lessons remain. Rhodesians never die.

This book accurately accounts for the political machinations of the Rhodesian government leading up to and during the “turnover”. It is essential to be aware of and attest to the seriously racially prejudiced society that existed in Rhodesia. It happened. And this book acknowledges it.
But the other side of that coin is the fact that violent racial atrocities and extensive geopolitical interference occurred in Rhodesia against white persons. And the reality of that must be acknowledged and accounted for, which modern internet debate refuses to partake in because they want upvotes on Reddit.
The takeaway for the more “middle of the road” listener is that: this book tells it how it was. And perhaps, you can start recognizing when society starts breaking down, the multi-year realties of that breakdown.
It doesn’t tell you what to do or how to feel, it is simply an accurate accounting of something that happened sometime in recent history.
For that, the author deserves much credit because modern discourse prides itself mainly on shutting out the discourse they claim to want and need.
