Intriguing, exciting and heart throbbing. Had me hooked st the beginning, poor Cal!
Looking forward to continuing.
I’ve never heard of Neil Hellegers before, but he did a real credible job.

If you like very masculine stories than..

If you like very masculine stories than this book is for you. I like survival stories but this feels like it was written by an ex military guy who doesn’t know women very well. I do like the characters and the story however I feel it ended abruptly and feels like half of a book. There is a lot of detail about military things and guns but little detail on civilian areas. The woman’s dialogue feels like a man wrote it. I don’t even normally notice things like that. A good story though and I would recommend it other to read.

Different Type of Apocalypse Story

Very good story so far, does not follow the typical worn out doomsday stories. Nice different take on it. Good characters, interesting story. Narrating is very good. Enjoying this series, starting on next book today!

Couldn’t stop listening

Very entertaining listen to it in one day. Hope the next author is as talented as Devon C Ford.

Good book

I enjoyed the book. A little slow at times. They can't keep the "she or he" straight.

I loved it.

I know it had its moments but hey, it’s book one. Let’s see how the next one does

Ever Hear A Bad Impressionist

The story line was okay. The writing was choppy, to the point of being awkward. The main reason I rated this so low is the reader’s portrayal of the characters. Two-dimensional! The Southerner sounded like a cartoon character. The Brit sounded like an Australian. And, the military characters were portrayed like, well, I’m not sure what. Done with the series after book one.

A bit techy but a really good read

Great story line. Will be getting three rest ppd the stories. Lots of technical details.

Characters

I thought the characters were well developed, over different time periods, and much of the action proceeded from their emotions. Great description of emotions and background, and good pacing. It’s one of those really satisfying good reads you want to look forward to every day.

Well done

Unlike almost all of these post apocalypse books I read, this one I really liked. The story was well structured, the characters acted like I would expect characters in the described scenarios to act and the plot was believable. I only caught two small issues. One, submarines don’t track contacts using radar and two, the navy doesn’t have medics. They have corpsmen. On to Book Two…
