A looming darkness. A dangerous journey. Breaking the Curse was just the beginning...

Silence and solitude--that's all Cyra wants after her disastrous failed attempt to lift the Curse. In a towering seaside mansion, she lingers over her many regrets...

When an unexpected visitor upends her quiet existence, Cyra is forced to face the last person she wants to see: Fitzhumphrey, the former Crown Prince, and the man she stabbed through the heart only months earlier.

Soon, the awkwardness she feels is the least of her concerns. A powerful alliance has targeted them, and is willing to kill for what Cyra and Fitz have. The unlikely pair is plunged into a conspiracy, forced to flee to the most dangerous place they could go.

Can Cyra and Fitz survive the perils that wait for them beyond the Southern Wastes?

A Bone Dagger is a stand-alone fantasy novel featuring characters first introduced in A Sharpened Axe.

I picked up this book to listen to an audiobook narrator I was interested in hiring. I wasn't a huge fan of the pause between dialogue and dialogue tag, but it wasn't really noticeable after I got further in the book. Overall, the story is solid, but the beginning is slow in my opinion. I prefer fantasy and horror that starts with a big action packed scene. That isn't the case in this book. The majority of the beginning is two people enjoying food and forming a friendship. Later there was a section which discussed dress making in detail. This wasn't a bad book, just not for me. That being said, I finished the book and just recognize I'm not the target audience. If you're a fan of cozy romantasy, I think you'll enjoy this book and narrator. She has a calm measured voice which shows emotion and lends itself well to the genre.

a cozy romantasy that starts out slow and might appeal to a seamstress

I have been anxiously awaiting this sequel to A Sharpened Ax and it didn't disappoint. Great continuation and I am so glad Fitz has his much deserved happy ending!

This is a fantastic story with a talented narrator! Like the first book in this series it does start slow, but don't give up! It turns exciting and fun and altogether wonderful. And the animal friends are so endearing and interesting! I appreciate author Jill Beene so very much because I do love suspense and fantasy but not the dark and horror filled kind, nor the romantic story that's filled with explicit sexual encounters. Thank you Ms. Beene and please keep your stories coming!!
