Originally I did not receive the transcript as promised. After posting about it the company reached out to me and provided me with a transcript. The short stories are interesting and helpful. I highly recommend them!

WONDERFUL...JUST THE MATERIAL I NEEDED!!!

I have been trying to learn Spanish for years and felt I had reached a plateau with studying grammar and vocabulary. Then I decided to switch to listening to short stories. This seems to have set me on a new trajectory in my learning. For me, listening to stories has made the learning more interesting and more fun. Having the context of a story seems to make the learning easier for me.

I have been listening to a variety of recorded stories in Spanish and found that these Acquire a Lot episodes are very well done. They highlight important vocabulary and quiz me for comprehension. What's more, I have had occasion to correspond with the producer of the programs and found that he is prompt and helpful in his responses. The vocabulary focuses on words everyone knows or can readily figure out

The stories are for a very, very young audience. The reader reads nicely but very, very slowly. The help at the end of the stories provides the worst possible selection of vocabulary words so that you have to look a lot up on your own while being told that el hotel means the hotel.
