Sacrificing his life to protect his best friend was a decision Hui Yue did not regret.

Yet who could have known that death was not the final destination, but rather the beginning of a new adventure into a world filled with demonic beasts and martial arts cultivation? Hui Yue soon finds that within this world, strength is what determined your future accomplishments...and there is no space for the weak. Embarking upon this new life, Hui Yue meets friends, experiences betrayal, and embarks on his own journey of cultivation to overcome his limits and increase his strength.

But with all of the Chinese names I wish the narrator would take the time to learn to pronounce them correctly.

Great action…

This book is decent if you enjoy his other works. It takes place in the same or similar universe as his other series Condemning the Heavens but from the beginning it is inferior when compared to it (this book is older than that series). There are less details written in both descriptions and story causing it to feel somewhat lacking, a little harder to follow, and I feel a new readers to this author would be better to start on his later series, if you don't like that series you definitely won't like this one. As someone who enjoyed Condemning the Heavens and wanted to read more of this authors works I feel this book, while lacking, is a decent read for fans and I will be picking up the next book in this series.

Not bad, could be better.

the story is not bad the narration is not bad either. the biggest thing that I found that bothered me was how the narrator voiced the main character. it was very nasally.
