Acerca de esta escucha

Includes books one and two of Dual Sword Gods, the epic tale of a warrior who wields two unparalleled swords.

Nirvana Rebirth, book one

A new life starts with the end of another, leading to the birth of an invincible legend. Born talentless into a life full of struggle, Feng Yu thought his dreams were only fantasies, including his hope of becoming a peak cultivator. Until one day, in a strange ancient ruin, he encounters an accident, one that transports his soul to another world, transforming his entire existence.

In the Bright Flame Kingdom, there's a small town known as Machen Town where a boy of age 15 called Feng Yu was beaten to death by the Xiang Clan's son. Upon his demise, a soul that had traveled through time and space quickly took over the body, merging as one new being. It was the soul of a martial cultivator from another world, also bearing Feng Yu's name.

Realizing that he now has a second chance at life, Feng Yu decided to take in his new identity in full stride. He chooses to pursue his goal of reaching the summit of martial arts through the arts of swordsmanship, all while gradually unearthing the powers of his mysterious bloodline and the world around him.

The Door of an Ancient Kingdom, book two

After a tiring trip to the Tydol Mountain Range, Feng Yu had finally made it home in one piece. The atmosphere in Machen Town is growing richer as the date for the Bright Flame Kingdom's Talent Selection approaches, causing many unusual characters to wander about town, eager to witness the battle of young elites. However, because of an unusual prophecy, the turnout is bigger than expected. Young elites from distant lands had traveled to partake in this competition, and a battle unlike anything seen before is set motion.

The mood for an astounding competition is rising to its peak, but so are the underworkings, shrouded by the competing atmosphere. Feng Yu and his newfound friends must now compete against these rising talents and unveil what truly hides beneath.

Lo que los oyentes dicen sobre Dual Sword God, Books 1-2

Con calificación alta para:

The Audiobook Appears To Be A Cultivation Novel With An Interesting Premise And Decent Story Concept, Focusing On Themes Like Cultivation, Action Scenes, Clan Politics, And The Protagonist's Power Progression. However, The Writing Is Criticized For Being Weak, With Issues Such As Repetitive Storylines, Poor Pacing, And Underdeveloped Characters. While Some Found The Cultivation Elements And Overall Storyline Entertaining, Others Felt The Execution Was Lacking, Particularly In The Second Half Of The Second Book.

Not bad but moves slowly!

Pretty good eastern cultivation novel but the second half of the story seriously drags, like 6 hours worth of audio in a single set of fight scenes with only minimal changes in the setting. I would recommend it though, still quite entertaining if you can handle the lack of progress in book 2.

Interesting but difficult to understand

This was my first cultivation book/audiobook. Hard for me to understand the martial arts moves so I thought a movie would have been much better.

And a short coming on my part, not familiar with Chinese names, I got the characters confused. It’s a shame that Chinese ppl in America did not keep their true first names and chose western ones.

Great story but horrendous narration.

It is so sad when a great story is ruined by terrible narration, I honestly wanted to rip my hair out with how bad this was. The narrator put almost zero emotion into this, i couldn't tell when people were angry scared or anything, the only way I could tell was because the author would point out that people were angry.
I used to think goblin summoner was the worst narration I ever heard but this just blew my mind, people don't say sigh when they sigh nor say cough when they cough... and put some damn emotion into roars.. don't just say roar like a robot. I would have given this a 4 star if he tried even a slight bit but I think 3 is what it deserves.

Felt like the writing was someone first try

Few issues…

characters names are hard to keep up with. There are so many so very similar that you find yourself going back constantly to keep up with the story. This may be I am from western culture and this not used to Asian naming so much

There is a way to much over use of *sigh* *hmm* *he he he* and other ways of writen expression of emotion.

Overall it may go over better if this book was read but when being through audio it was tough to listen to.

It wasn’t a bad story and still recommend it for anyone that enjoys cultivation novels

Why do I like this so much?

These types of books are so repetitive but super good. It’s like every other sentence is: ‘he/she was shocked’ or someone being prideful. I love it when the prideful people get put in there place. Hahaha. Also why is it that someone is so strong that it is shocking, but yet still so weak bc one person just shows up and shows out.
There was a dry spot in the middle though. Also no need for all the sound effects. Lol. Some were good but there were just to many.
Narrator on point as usual. I still feel like someone is super shockingly powerful every other sentence when he reads. Lol. Book is what you expect it to be. Also this book has a lot of other parts in it yet somehow it makes sense.

Good story

I thought the story was entertaining. I could get lost when the narration pronounced all the Chinese name of the characters in one sentence. Who is he talking about? Author liked to use the word Change! (didn't like the last version of the sentence? No worries. insert the Scooby-Doo Change function) Still the storyline was entertaining. would of liked to see the characters in a more R rated situation as the author called it. Narration was ok. He liked to make swoosh sounds but not pause sounds. Different. Looking forward to the next installment.

Nooooo!

Sadly the story was performed by one of the great narrators on Audible, Kevin has an amazing line of books I have enjoyed listening too, Dragon Heart ect…..
But what the hell happened??? The performance is his worse and detracts from the story. Instead of coughing you say cough cough ??????????? Either invest in the story Kevin or get off the pot.
The story is pretty dope if not for the poorly executed narration. If this is the way the author wanted it performed then shame on Shadowfinger for shackling a amazing performer.

Pretty good but…….

The book is good but it spends to much time on one thing it spent 4 to 5 hours on one fight like bro you don’t need to spend every book on one thing I don’t need to hear every fight a whole book was spent on mount tidol a whole book and then the sound effects he couldn’t have had a machine do it so like sound effects real sound effects with him doing it it’s corny and overall like the fights are kinda corny like the Chinese setting it’s good but has Major flaws I will be getting the next book and come on kevin use a pop filter like I took a huge break on dragon heart because of you like I can hear every breath but this are the flaws there a good things too buy the book

bad narrater

dude needs to listen to some Japanese anime subbed (che is not sounded as chay, dude seriously has no clue, several like that), also, seriously, who reads the word "sigh" instead of making the sound when narrating a book? ugh, way to break the flow via that and similar countless times.
