Publisher's summary

Fortuna's entire life has changed.

She has no idea how to balance her new responsibilities and who she used to be. There are hundreds of faeries in her head, her brother seems to have lost touch with reality, and a werewolf won’t leave her side. Maybe the utter lack of control is why her abilities seem to be changing as well.

Then there’s Collith - enigmatic, beautiful, and infuriating. He’s not only a king of the faeries she despises so much, but he’s also her mate. And his gentle pursuit causes confusion in her normally unwavering relationship with Oliver.

As a result of it all, Fortuna now finds herself surrounded by new enemies, as well as ones from her past. The question isn’t whether she is strong enough to make change in such a corrupt court; it’s whether she will survive long enough to do it.

A must read - or in this case, listen!

After reading and LOVING the 1st book, I was so excited to start on the 2nd. The author kept the same fast paced, unique story line...no extra fluff! Every situation came together perfectly! As before, the narrator did such an amazing job!

KJ Sutton has me Hanging on to her every word

OH my gosh. I have a hard time reading/listening to most fantasy books. I just get lost in the names and what is going on. I am having no issues with the book. I am lost in the world instead of what is going on. I love the fast pace of the story and how the story keeps moving along. The characters are likeable and I want to know more about them. I have found a series that I think I will keep reading.

Whoa. Similar to 1 but then abrupt dark turn

The first book was a bit grim at times but not deeply dark. The concept was very intriguing though a little roughly done. This second installment had interesting continuations though I must admit some of the plot lines are being drug out past a readers or listener’s patience. It was going along okay but then took a supremely dark turn. Not sure if I want to go on to book three or not. Readers have to trust authors with their mind and imagination.

Fae world different take

Loved it, I enjoy the world of the fae and all things related. This title took a bit to get into the story but after a few minutes of listening, it hooked me.

My humble and honest opinion- it’s a long one.

First of all I do recommend the series/book it was a good listen. It wasn’t complicated and wasn’t hard to listen the narrator she actually depicted Fortuna’s sass quite well actually. She has some character flaws but really doesn’t any decent character? I do sometimes find her rashness tiring and her quickness to anger to be her true downfall. It make characters seem more real and challenging when they have problems we feel are easily solved.

*Spoilers* Be cautioned

That being said, after the cliffhanger drop off that was the end of book two I imagine that the next book will have a more dark tone as she will have most likely some PTSD. I also sense that she will be struggling with her power more often now and the darkness we already saw coming will creep out more often. I enjoyed the book but the last bit had me pretty pumped and ready to throw down with the author in defense for the characters.(lol🤣) I’m gonna be honest though if I went through what Fortuna just did at the end of this book you would have to peel me off the floor and probably force feed me. No woman should be even near that experience so if she’s maybe a tad bit whiny or anger or whatever in the next book-I can’t say I blame her. Overall a good read and I’m ready to listen to book three even though I’m probably gonna wanna throw hands again lol.

I really enjoyed this series. The way Fortuna grows into her relationship is a perfect steady uphill battle. Can’t wait for book 3! I already preordered it!

Started fairly strong in the first book but....

so this lead character has No real growth and always chooses to be ignorant except the random one time in the first book that made all the trials POINTLESS they are KING AND QUEEN OF A RACE OF "POWERFUL" FALLEN ...bur none care about their leaders at all just let them die i actually got to the point i agreed just so annoying.
